My self-summary
I am so very, very happy today for all my friends to FINALLY be able to show their love by marrying the person they love! :')

Insert awkward comment about describing oneself here.

I'm a tall, geeky, funny and sarcastic guy. I'm a massage therapist, which I enjoy tremendously because I love to help people feel better. I'm empathic, compassionate and very giving. Sometimes too giving, I suppose, but I'd rather risk being taken advantage of than be a selfish ass.

I'm not religious, but I feel that there is almost certainly something more than what we see around us. To me, science is likely the only way to understand what that might be.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a full-time massage therapist, working both in a clinic as well as at people's homes, though I still work a little retail just for a change of pace.
I’m really good at
Massaging, laughing, empathy and looking at all sides of a situation, listening, sex/snuggling/cuddling, being calm.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't really know. I'm tall? I've been told pretty often that I resemble Tim Robbins, which I don't really see but there are far worse people with whom one could be compared so I'll take it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This will have to be an extremely abbreviated list!

Music: ABC, Tori Amos, Andrew W.K., Arcade Fire, Bauhaus/Ash/Murphy/Love and Rockets/Tones on Tail, Beck, Belly, Bach, Beethoven, Bettie Serveert, Bjork, the Blow Monkeys, Bright Eyes, Cake, the Cars, Nick Cave, the Clash/Big Audio Dynamite/Joe Strummer, Cocteau Twins, the Cure, Dead Kennedys, Death Cab for Cutie, the Decemberists, Deerhunter, Depeche Mode, Descendents, Devo, DeVotchKa, Echo & the Bunnymen/Ian McCulloch, Explosions in the Sky, Fine Young Cannibals, the Fixx, Franz Ferdinand, Girl Talk, David Gray, Robyn Hitchcock, the House of Love, Interpol, INXS, James, the Jesus and Mary Chain, LCD Soundsystem, Lykke Li, MGMT, Ministry, the Mr. T Experience, Moby, Muse, the National, OMD, Phoenix, Pixies/Breeders/Frank Black Francis, the Polyphonic Spree, the Postal Service, the Primitives, the Psychedelic Furs, Public Image Ltd., Ramones, R.E.M., Sex Pistols, She Wants Revenge, Shout Out Louds, Shriekback, the Sisters of Mercy, Social Distortion, Sugar, that dog, They Might Be Giants, U2, Vampire Weekend, Violent Femmes, Wall of Voodoo/Stan Ridgway/Andy Prieboy, Warsaw/Joy Division/New Order/Revenge/Electronic, Weezer, Yo La Tengo... Basically, 70s, 80s punk & new wave and its descendents, classical, ambient/trance, even some old country & a little rap/hip hop upon occasion.

Film & TV: Firefly/Serenity, Doctor Who/Torchwood, Star Trek, Star Wars (yes, I am a geek), Blade Runner, Alien, also indie films, comedies, dramas. A little bit of horror, but not torture porn.

Art: Chuck Close, the Delaunays, Rothko, Magritte, Vaughan Oliver, Peter Saville... I prefer work from the Impressionists onwards. I liked the Louvre, enjoyed the Orsay but preferred the Pompidou. I love just about any museum, though. I think they represent the pinnacle of our evolution: that we as a species would devote time, money and energy to create spaces for ourselves to create, display, view, feel and experience art and beauty, science and knowledge, is remarkable if not astonishing.
Six things I could never do without
