My self-summary
Poly guy who cherishes patience, kindness, and honesty.

Avid reader of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, magical realism, noir, comics, and graphic novels. Just got caught up on Saga. Started reading the (cosmic) Marvel Annihilation arc. Writer, gamer, and budding cook. Looking to play more board games with friends and new people. Love going to the movies, watching movies at home, and I stay caught up on a few great shows. A long time fan of real hip-hop and heavy beat music. And life-long Buddhist working with my mind.

My daily life includes meditation, working on a novella involving elves with ray-guns, and loving my lazy little chihuahua. Spending time getting in touch with a healthier version of me. This last year involved a great deal of transformation on my part and clarified what I is important to me. These include wanting to share my life with someone who is passionate, kind, patient, quirky and kinky. Secondly, I want to be an author so I must write daily. In fact, I write daily as a kind of medication, because if I don't, then I won't feel healthy.

The bottom line, I've found that happiness is tough work that is on-going. As part of my journey, I've addressed old, unhealthy attitudes and habits, and developed new healthier behaviors and practices. But the work is not done. These days I'm in a great place and I feel extremely stable and happy. In this happy place, I've come back to OKC to start meeting people, and maybe finding a strong partnership so I can share my joy with another.
What I’m doing with my life
Work in IT to pay my bills when I'm not writing or gaming. I like solving problems and writing automation tools. It tests my logic and I love that.

When I'm not at work, I'm at home working on my novella (it's now in the fourth drafting phase). The goal with this is to polish it and then submit it for publishing. It'll be my first submission so I'm really working hard to get it into great shape.

Twice a month, I contribute to a writers' critique group to continually work on my writing and help others do the same. This is an extremely fulfilling group and I plan on participating for a while.

Running a Dungeons and Dragons game, okay it's Pathfinder not technically D&D but probably more awesome. The Iron Gods will rise! Playing other card games and board games with friends.

In my free time, I offer my time as a volunteer at a couple of Buddhist centers here in Seattle. I don't proselytize but try to ensure those that come to the center feel welcome and perhaps even at home.
I’m really good at
Taking time to cultivate patience and understanding. Developing my creativity. Thinking about the future. Thinking about global affairs and the troublesome US foreign policy (current and historical), as well as our social issues inside of the states.
The first things people usually notice about me
My beard. It's not out of hand, but it's recognizable from a distance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Sci-fi, Horror, Detective Fiction/Noir, Non-Fiction, and a smattering of Sacred Literature.

Shows: My favorite show is Mr. Robot. I'm Stoked for the new season of Game of Thrones. Still really like crime dramas but haven't seen a good one in a while. Also, I love silly sitcoms like Community, 30 Rock and It's Always Sunny. Of course, I also like Science Fiction TV as well, The Expanse, Westworld, modern BSG, Star Trek: Next Generation.

Music: I love dirty and grimy beats paired with warm textures/harmonies. Genres include but not limited to, jazz, blues, reggae, dub, funk, hiphop, rap, avant garde beat driven music, soul, orchestral soundtracks. Artists include, J Dilla, Madlib, MF Doom, Shabazz Palaces, Flying Lotus, Digital Mystikz, Kaiju.

Food: Currently dealing with belly issues so gluten-free and can't have garlic or onions. So I do a lot of cooking and eating gluten-free pizzas.
Six things I could never do without
Family & friends
Science-fiction and fantasy writers and their works
Board Games
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The history of humans on this planet. The future of humans in the universe, and beyond...
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for a good place to chill and listen to some beats or out playing board games with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cried the first time I saw Forest Gump. I know it's not the greatest movie ever, but it hit me in the right emotional place.

Also, I like some trap music because of that 808!
You should message me if
You want to meet me or my little doggie roommate, Marilyn, the cute but lazy chihuahua that I share my life with. Maybe a walk in the park, or on the beach at Golden Gardens? Maybe you'd like to go see the Jim Henson Exhibit at MoPop? Or is there another museum you'd like to visit? I'm partial to the Asian Art Museum myself. Perhaps there's a new sci-fi movie you'd like to see in the theater? Or you just want to drink tea/coffee/eat good food. We can drink and talk and get to know each other.
