Anyway, self-description. Here were go:
More than anything, I hope that I'm a kind person, and I try really hard to be one. I compliment strangers, make friends at bars, and try to do right by my fellow humans. I don't believe in criticizing people for the sake of it - especially other women - so while I probably won't trash celebrities with you, I will agree with you anytime you want to pay a woman in Hollywood a compliment, so I call that a silver lining.
I'm originally from southern California, which some people say is why I'm pretty laid back, but I only credit it for my love of the Lakers and avocadoes. In that order. I moved to D.C. for my job, which I love, and while I miss LA fiercely, I can't imagine leaving. I'm the Policy Director for a LGBT organization, and my work plays a really big role in my life. Not only does it take a lot of my time, but the issue owns a big part of my heart, and so do my progressive politics more generally. That's definitely something I would need to share with someone I dated, so if you're not a liberal, odds are, we're just not going to have enough in common.
I walk a pretty fine (and hard characterize) line between being pretty goofy and quite serious. I think a lot of things matter, and those I take incredibly seriously. But I think many more things don't matter that much - and matter much less than we think they matter - and I have a really great time refusing to take those things seriously. I love to read, I love watching television (seriously. Love it. Don't get me started), and I will generally watch any game that's on (because I'm my father's daughter), though my favorite is basketball. I also love to meet new people and just sit and talk. I ask a lot of questions (don't be alarmed!), and I genuinely love the process of getting to know someone.
I don't really have a type beyond loving men who are smart and funny. If you can make me think and make me laugh, I'm happy.
Anyway, if you think we'd get along, drop me a line! Hope to hear from you!
