My self-summary
College grad in English and Philosophy and soon to get to work on my Masters. I been some places. Lived in the Czech Republic for a year and a half. Settled down in China for a bit. I am a bit of a mystic and dabble in the occult. Radical politics (anarchy, anarcha and eco-feminism, revolutions/revolutionaries, exposing social constructs, prison abolition, and generally just sticking it to the Man) are kinda my thing. I write silly shit that I think people pretend to like, but hey, what are friends for? I've been published here and there in literary journals.
I'm fascinated by what has been dubbed "psychedelic" philosophy and art. I enjoy finding new ways to alter and expand consciousness.
I'm at home in nature more so than the city, but the city is where I need to be for now. However, camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and all those sorts of things are near and dear to me. I'm a total festy. I try to make it to at least a couple festivals a year. Me and the festy family always do it right. Oh, and I can fix a car too. I secretly, or not so secretly, consider myself a mountain man.
Here, Bob Wilson explains a lot about my perspective on things: "You should view the world as a conspiracy run by a very closely-knit group of nearly omnipotent people, and you should think of those people as yourself and your friends."
What I’m doing with my life
I guess you could say I am looking for a direction, but really I'm not. I have ambition and desire; I consider that enough. I seek pleasure, but not at the risk of being immoral. Let's be real though- morality is subjective; I also enjoy and embrace spontaneous fits of inspiration.
I’m really good at
procrastination, hypnosis, offending people's sensibilities, traveling on a whim, dismantling language, making a good night a great night.
The first things people usually notice about me
That's a good question. If I knew that I would either be much more or much less anxious. I think it's a little unfortunate how first impressions can sway relations. People aren't a very good representation of themselves the first time you meet them, right?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a total bibliophile and have been since birth. I like anything sci-fi, dada, surrealist, beat, fluxus, or futurist. That kinda shit. I'm a cyberpunk junky, and love comic books. I'll throw some of my faves out there: Naked Lunch, VALIS, Prometheus Rising, Dictee, Akira, Preacher, the Illuminatus! Trilogy, Trout Fishing in America, Be Here Now, Chaos and Cyberculture, Transmetropolitan, Stranger in a Strange Land, Hyperion, the Process, aaaand I could look at the Codex Seraphinianus for hours. It is absolutely enchanting. Also, I eat up anything about the occult and the psychedelic experience (other than the 90% of it that's total bullshit). Also, lots and lots of candlelit poetry readings take place in my life.

I love me some movies, so I'm a geek in that regard, as well. Let's see, I was so excited after seeing the Matrix for the first time, I immediately left the theater and puked in the parking lot. Spirited Away transports me to another world. I feel like an 8 year old every time I watch it. I think I have seen Pulp Fiction and American Beauty over 50 times each. If I had to pick a favorite movie, it would probably be Slacker. El Topo is also pretty high up there, but my favorite director is Luis Bunuel.

TV Shows are kind of a recent development for me, but my favorites are Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, Six Feet Under and Lost.

I was opposed to those long drawn out lists of bands on everyone's profile, but everyone is doing it, so I'm caving. First and foremost, Ween is the greatest band of all time. [cue list] Portishead, The Butthole Surfers, Beck, The Velvet Underground, Alanis Morissette, Sound Tribe, The Boredoms, Nirvana, Primus, Ravi Shankar, Cat Stevens, Biggie Smalls, Yonder Mountain String Band, Scissor Sisters, Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett, Laurie Anderson, String Cheese Incident, Aphex Twin, Mindless Self Indulgence, Al Green, Robert Johnson, Rage Against the Machine, Erik Satie, Peelander-Z, anything Jack White touches, Fiona Apple, Black Sabbath, Bone Thugs, The Meat Puppets, Captain Beefheart, The Grateful Dead and all its derivatives, and I dunno, I'm gonna stop now.

I'm a vegetarian. Not for any sort of moral reason, I just feel better, physically and mentally, when my diet doesn't contain the flesh of dead animals. My motivation is purely selfish. Anyway, generally speaking, I'm not too picky about my food.
The six things I could never do without
green things (money aside)
the means to write
a good porch
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All the things I'm told I shouldn't be thinking about and innumerable pain-in-the-ass questions.
On a typical Friday night I am
Scaling the underbelly of the American dream.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Unfortunately (or fortunately), I'll admit just about anything...
You should message me if
If you're down for good conversation and staying up late drinking or being at least mildly hedonistic. You dig ethics of care and attempt to approach things without silly preconceived notions. Honestly, there are too many reasons why you should message me!
