My self-summary
I'm an optimist and a skeptic, easily amused but not easily fooled. I'm driven by curiosity and a spirit of adventure, and I'm fortunate to have a great career that's both challenging and a whole lot of fun. I appreciate men who are intelligent, creative, kind-hearted, genuine, and at peace with themselves. Funny is a big plus, as long as it's effortless... I'm a sucker for enthusiasm, and wouldn't mind hanging out with a music lover. I'm low-maintenance, high-energy, open-minded, easy-going, and smarter than the average bear. I love dark comedy and red wine. I can't fathom people feeling like they're done figuring things out - I feel like I'm just getting started.

I'm hoping to find someone who's a little bit wise, irreverent, and playful, with whom I can share a random thought or a belly laugh or an askew observation. I generally like my fellow humans, and really believe most people are doing their best. I've never had a thing for bad boys, but I am attracted to a quiet confidence. I'm also attracted to common decency and humility. I do my best to be inclusive and open, and to cultivate environments in which people can be comfortable and creative and bring their best. I'm a nice person. I'm easily delighted. I'm moved by honesty and connection and affection.

I did gymnastics in high school, circus arts in my 20s, and now favor the athleticism of yoga more than anything that involves a ball. I throw like a girl... I love music a whole lot, and have reconnected with that in the last few years, having achieved profound mediocrity on guitar. I'm collaborative and improvisational by nature. I'll try anything that probably won't kill me.
What I’m doing with my life
Paying attention. Researching. Listening to my instincts. Making things up. Tasting. Appreciating the irony. Marveling at what people have made. Keeping an eye out for the smart in the funny and the funny in the smart.
I’m really good at
Seeing not just what people do but what they can do. Making chocolate covered candied orange peel. Adapting. Conversing. Following my nose.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m happy to be here – or there – or wherever those people are.

The six things I could never do without
A sense of possibility
Night blooming jasmine
World travel
The wisdom of others
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What is next. How to get from what is now to what is next. How much I want people to believe in themselves more. Timing. How language morphs ("all the sudden?" When did that happen?). Talent vs. hard work. How much I want people to worry less. Desire vs. obligation. Truth in comedy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Dinner, drinks, movies, music, theatre, work, TV, reading, rehashing, colluding, celebrating and/or contemplating.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My stupid human trick is chin-wiggling.
You should message me if
you're smiling right now.
