My self-summary
I'm Ben! I'm a freelance audio engineer with a degree from American University in Audio Production and a minor in Computer Science. I'm an avid gamer, mostly FPS with the occasional RPG thrown in for good measure. I also sometimes play tabletop RPGs (mostly Dungeons & Dragons but I'm always willing to try new systems).

Every year I volunteer at MAGFest (as well as some of their other events such as MAGStock and MAGClassic) as one of their audio engineers. I used to only work in JamSpace but I recently joined the Music Dept. and am running the sound at Main Stage.

I recently started working full time recording audiobooks for the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped at a local company and love it. It's also given me a whole list of new books I want to read.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an audio engineer, I take work whenever and wherever I can get it (within reason of course, I'm not going to up and go to Alaska for a single job. Unless it was something like running sound for a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert or something). Even though I work making audiobooks full-time, I still take freelance work every once in a while.
I’m really good at
Mixing live music, as well as drinks. Being passionate about the things I really love.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, anything by Michael Chrichton, Brent Weeks, Brandon Sanderson, and Drew Karpyshyn.

Movies: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Sweeny Todd, Scarface (1932), Citizen Kane (1941), all the Marvel movies.

Shows: Doctor Who (post 2005), Torchwood, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, iZombie, Scorpion, Gotham.

Music: Metallica, Breaking Benjamin, Nightwish, ACDC, Iron Maiden, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Avenged Sevenfold, Triforce Quartet, Brentalfloss.

Food: Everything, just everything.
Six things I could never do without
1) Kindle, loaded with gigabytes of epic tales
2) iPod loaded with tunes. Music is one of the most important things in my life.
3) Netflix. I really love binge-watching.
4) Laptop. For playing my favorite old-school computer games.
5 & 6 have yet to be determined.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where my career is headed, how I can make the most of it, and puppies. What more does one need?
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with my friends playing video games or seeing a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
my dice have more than six sides.
You should message me if
If you love music as much as I do (frankly, I'm making a career out of it) or are a musician, or if you enjoy tabletop RPGs or video games.
