My self-summary
I never do know what to say on this thing...Well, I just finished my doctorate in the department of microbiology, and now working in the School of Medicine at SLU,. Grew up in a small town in Illinois.

I enjoy cooking and am a big fan of good wine and good food. I can be somewhat of a forward person, but it is just because I have a personal bubble the size of pin head...It takes a lot to get to me, which I guess can be a good and bad thing.

The last thing I guess I will say is that I have a ridiculous sense of humor and try to find the funny side of anything and everything. Sometimes it may appear I am insincere or maybe even offensive...well, that's unfortunate.

"It is my civic duty to help and make sure that people never take themselves too seriously"~ Original quote by yours truly

People say I am hard to get a read on. I am logical and use reason rather than emotion as the base of my decision making paradigm.

Last bit...if by chance you are a grammar/spelling nazi/elitist and you find issue with anything here, please note that it is more likely due to laziness/lack of proof reading than a failure to grasp the English language.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently working at SLU in a Post-Doc position...Hopefully which will one day materialize into a faculty position somewhere...Otherwise, I homebrew, cook, and anything else that might strike my fancy.
I’m really good at
Science? lol, uuummm...

I am a reasonable cook...does that count for something? Good at presenting random factoids.

This is a bit of an awkward segment, but I guess you could say I have a pretty good taste for wine, good food, and good beer.
The first things people usually notice about me
No clue...Meet me and then you can tell me? *shrugs*

Well, I guess on here it is said that none of my pictures look the same. Well, I do have a tendency to change my appearance. Long hair, short hair, beard, clean shaven, etc.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books...Wheel of Time, Sword of Truth, Harry Potter, Zombie Survival Guide, Z-day, Alphabet of Manliness, Stories of the immortal Nicolas Flamel, etc.

Movies and TV shows...I can't even start on the movies...It is hard to find movies I don't enjoy. My library is, extensive.
For TV, I am hooked on Dexter, True Blood, Heroes (Rest in Peace). Netflix has given me a few new loves though, namely, Doctor Who and How I Met Your Mother. Also The Walking Dead...everyone must have a zombie survival plan.
Six things I could never do without
My phone, my car, internet, warmth/sun, good friends, and good wine/beer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My work. Science isn't something you really turn off. To me it is integrated into how I I never really stop thinking about it, or how it affects the rest of reality (evolution, cosmos, etc.)

Otherwise I do let me mind wonder a lot. I never know what may pop into my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I am ever out of work, I have a few bars I like to hit up, there are always friends to share a pint with and sometimes I host wine tastings.
But I really have no problem being at home on a friday night, kicked back, and relaxing :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am not a private there really isn't anything I hide...try me.

(Since I am not really private, its difficult to think of something that I would have trouble otherwise admitting to ha)
You should message me if
you are in the St. Louis area and you think I sound like someone you would enjoy. I am pretty easy to get along with and I am always interested in meeting new people.

Oh, not that guys get many random messages here, but I probably won't be your type if, in your questions section, you answered the question "which is bigger, the Earth or the Sun?" with "the Earth".
