My self-summary
I think we're animals, in the best way. We're built to communicate and care about things. And we have a huge capacity for curiosity.

As for me- the man, the animal; I have a lot of patience for people trying to learn and change, I've done a lot of volunteering and teaching about that. I think emotional warmth is really important and I like being open.

Most of all, I like to play.

If you like monkey hugs and laughing then we'll get along.
What I’m doing with my life
My day job is currently science communication in a museum, which is awesome. I love learning about science and sharing it with people.

I like board-games and do that quite a bit. I perform improvised comedy. I did some clowning classes recently which I really enjoyed.

I am learning Korean. 한국어 흥미있어요. 그리고 한국어 말하기 재미 있어요.

I'm looking for a companion to play boardgames, go to parks and the wilderness, go to museums and gigs, and wander about London with.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a working class saff-east/kentish accent, which surprises people apparently.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books, movies and series are my food. The full list would take a lifetime, in brief I like classic sci-fi and fantasy, a lot of comedy like Chris Morris, Bill Hicks, Richard Pryor, Eddie Izzard.

Top fictional role model: Dr Sam Beckett.

I will just put down recent fascinating things I have experienced. The Ape and the Sushi Master by Frans De Waal. Lords of Light by Zelazny. Castaway on the Moon. Sex Criminals. Rat Queens.

I watched The Lobster today which was really great.

Favourite things of all time. Imajica by Clive Barker. Promethea by Alan Moore. Goonies. Almost Famous. I really love Idries Shah's writing and Cordwainer Smith's.

Favourite Passionate Clinch:
Daniel Day-Lewis and Madeline Stowe in Last of the Mohicans.
Mmm, dat clinch.

Poor quality clip if you haven't seen it: Here

Music-wise I grew up listening to heavy metal, Devin Townsend and Opeth. Listen to everything now. I love the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou. Tori Amos, They Might Be Giants, Arethra Franklin, Detroit Emeralds, RIlo Kiley, Neko Case, Ravi Shankar. All good.

I consume a lot of media and love talking about it.
The six things I could never do without
Empathy and fun.

If you want to know where my antenna are focussed then see Brene Brown's TED talk on vulnerability.

Also I dig Mr Rogers. My role models are him, Bill Hicks and Sam Beckett from Quantum Leap.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Improvising. I'm obsessed. Even when I work on other things I keep thinking about running classes and doing shows.

I am an improv geek I will talk about it a lot if you let me.

Also Non-Violent Communication, I have been using that for about 5 years. It's fundamental to how I see the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Come on, there isn't one.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really like being emotionally supportive. I worked with the Samaritans for a while and have done lots of other similar training.

So I'm pretty open and hard to surprise. I am emotionally available.

I used to think that helping people was somehow getting away with not doing work because I enjoy it so much. But now I realise that means I can be a really good teacher and coach.
You should message me if
"I want to live darkly and richly in my femaleness"

I like genuine connection and positive actions. So if you want a genuine connection and some passion and playfulness we will get on.

I would love to commit, but I am likely to go abroad and teach English for a while, and may keep travelling. So unless you are similarly wander-bound be aware.
