My self-summary
Where to begin? Like a lot of people, I decided to give on-line dating a try because it seems the older I get, the harder it is to meet people out on the social scene. And, also like a lot of other people, I'm searching for that ever-elusive spark with someone else. I really don't enjoy dating- I don't like the games, expectations and pressure that seem to come with it, but I guess it's a necessary evil to get to the end goal! I'm looking for an old-fashioned kind of guy with a wicked sense of humor to take things slow and see where they end up. I believe it's important to establish at least somewhat of a friendship before moving on to anything else.

I have a very logical side to me, and also a very creative side. I love math! I also love to paint, draw, write, read and make pottery. I was an art major in college but ended up working in TV news.

I also like to stay active. Outdoor activities are a must. And I'm an on-the-go kind of gal. I love to travel. I've been all over Europe, and I'm not nearly done yet.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm just trying to figure out where I fit into this big, crazy world of ours. I have a good job, I have good people in my life, and I lead a very full and busy life, but I'm missing that special person to complete the puzzle.
I’m really good at
listening, and nurturing the people I care about. Friends and family are very important to me. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for them. I'm picky about who I let into my "inner circle"... but once you're in, you're in!
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably that I'm a bit quiet and reserved initally. It takes me a little while to warm up to people and to really let the "real" me out there. I definitely have a sarcastic edge to me, but I have a good heart, and a lot of love to give. I think the person who takes the time to peel back the layers will think it's worth it in the end!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite TV shows- Modern Family, 30 Rock, Cougar Town (give it a try!), The Office, Arrested Development (RIP!), and yes, I will admit that I have a secret soft spot for trashy reality TV.

Favorite books- anything goes. I'm an avid reader- classics, modern fiction, short stories, biographies, history.

Favorite music- I gravitate toward the older stuff- oldies, Motown, big band, classic rock. But I don't mind some pop stuff and hip hop. I'll listen to just about anything that's not "hardcore"- rap, heavy metal, country (is there such a thing as hardcore country?)

Favorite food- I try to eat relatively healthy, but I'm not going to lie and say I don't indulge in some McNuggets now and again. It's all about moderation.
Six things I could never do without
1. Family
2. Good friends
3. Good books
4. My dog
5. Physical activity- I love to stay active (running, biking, hiking, whatever)
6. Money (let's be real... we all need money to live!)
On a typical Friday night I am
doing any one of a number of things. I like going out to nice restaurants, having some wine, taking in a movie / concert / play / sporting event, or just staying in and watching TV and relaxing. Bars are fine, too, but I'm not much of a club person. I like to be able to hear what the person next to you is saying!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I guess you'll have to talk to me to find out!
You should message me if
you have a great sense of humor, a good heart, and a good head on your shoulders. Being tall is a plus, too :)
