My self-summary
I'm curious, sarcastic, talkative, and spontaneous. I love making fun of myself and others. I'm fascinated by nerdy things--especially anything science-related.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently a PhD student in computer science at NYU. I'll be starting a postdoc at Princeton next fall.
I’m really good at
Knowing a surprising amount about a wide range of nerdy things.

Making ice cream. (Recent flavors include watermelon, walnut and fig, lemon, and charoset.)

Picking restaurants.

Making people laugh.

Games. (All of them.) (Well.. some of them.) (Including Bananagrams.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm probably talking about something enthusiastically.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The opening sequence in Up is the best thing ever. I'm a big fan of everything by Quentin Tarantino (though I still haven't seen Death Proof). I also love The Big Lebowski, Science of Sleep, Little Miss Sunshine, Being John Malkovich, and Oldboy.

Recently listened to list includes The Decemberists, Led Zeppelin, Broken Social Scene, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, The New Pornographers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Tallest Man on Earth, Sigur Ros, Neutral Milk Hotel, Beck, and Jimi Hendrix.

For fiction, I love everything I've read by Kurt Vonnegut and J.D. Salinger. Some others: Catch-22, Siddhartha, and Spring and All. I also like nerdy non-fiction. Favorites include Guns, Germs, and Steal, The Selfish Gene, The Information, etc.

TV: Breaking Bad, Futurama, Last Week Tonight, Game of Thrones, Archer, Narcos, Seinfeld, Planet Earth (I also like the planet itself), Fargo.

I love good food. It's hard for me to imagine leaving NY because of the awesome variety of great restaurants.

Podcasts: This American Life, Snap Judgement, Serial, Love & Radio, Mystery Show, and various nerdy science things that often put me to sleep.

Also, xkcd. If you like xkcd, then we probably will get along.
Six things I could never do without
The internet
Great food
Hmm… not at six yet. I'm low maintenance. Just sit me at my computer with some good food, and let me make frequent sarcastic comments, and I'm good to go.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of different things. I'm an avid Wikipedia reader, Google searcher, and just generally a question asker.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out to dinner, drinking, singing karaoke, at a friend's house, doing something goofy and fun, babysitting my twenty-two-month-old nephew Jonah before going out (he goes to sleep at like 8), or (let's be honest) at home in my PJs.
You should message me if
You think you know a baby cuter than my nephew. (See pics)
