My self-summary
Yeah, I’m a doc but I’m almost reluctant to mention that because most women looking to meet a doctor are not looking for someone like me. I’ve got an artist’s temperament and am much more comfortable hanging with other musicians than I am at a Medical Society banquet. Most doctors bore me to distraction.
Don’t get me wrong- I love what I do, I’m devoted, focused and I’m very good at it, but it’s the creativity, passion, and human drama that attracts me. I try to save the world and I get to save lives. I do a lot of charity work and I think docs who are in it for the money are really missing the point. So, think Peace Corps- not AMA.
Other roles that I play on a daily basis: father, friend, activist, scholar, and patriarch of my extended family. My son is the most important person in my world and always will be. I would welcome the opportunity to love your kids as well.
I’m compassionate and empathic, which is essential to doing my job well, and I feel things deeply. I get to know people quickly because I pay attention and it’s rare for me to dislike someone. Also rare for them to dislike me.
I’m from Wisconsin originally but trained in the Bronx so I’ve got that Midwestern honesty thing going for me along with a New York attitude. I’m not controlling; nor am I controllable. Dating games confuse me and I always screw them up. Better to just ask me for what you want.
I read alot, am interested in most everything. and am spiritual but not religious. I’m a member of Amnesty International, the Native American Rights Foundation, the New Orleans Innocence Project and Physicians for Human Rights Asylum Network. I’ve seen Springsteen 20 times, live at night when I can, and would love to own a buffalo- 2 buffalo with a baby. Got a big yard?
What I’m doing with my life
Working Public Health Service in St. Charles and St. Tammany. Living in Mid-City and lovin' New Orleans.
I’m really good at
I'm an excellent psychiatrist. I was trained in Social Work and Psychology before Med School so I'm an advocate and a therapist as well. All of my patients get better. Also an excellent father and a loyal friend. And I'm a great boyfriend- I tell the truth, don't cheat, and I'm a kind man. Not gonna hurt you.
The first things people usually notice about me
My earring. A single feather. The symbol of the Native American Rights Foundation.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read textbooks. Like brown food mainly. All sorts of music- blues and roots music especially. I collect movie classics. Favorite movie: Cleavageville. Naked women get chased by a monster in LA. Sort of a tear-jerker but the acting is excellent.
The six things I could never do without
Music, my practice, my books, Fay-Fay my Australian Shepherd, a car, my friends, and my son.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Social justice, what I still want to accomplish in this lifetime, skinny women with blue hair and a girl scout uniform.
On a typical Friday night I am
Burnt out from the week. Gotta just crash on Friday. Saturday is time to play.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm in Recovery. Have been for quite awhile so no more crash and burn in my future. Doesn't mean you need to be. Consider me your designated driver.
You should message me if
I'm looking for a kindred spirit who appreciates me for who I am. Intelligence is a major turn on. I'm drawn to artistic and creative women who color outside the lines; also all cultures and creeds- so if you're Asian, a socialist, and worship Santa, I'm your guy. I respect loving women who refuse to let the world harden them. Someone who doesn't need a Lexus and a home in old Metairie to be happy, who treats the world with acceptance, compassion, and respect and who sees no good reason to grow up.
