My self-summary
I look at the world from the eyes of an artist, but analyzing everything like a scientist. I approach the world with enthusiasm and wide-eyed wonder.

I love to write, act, and sing, and do way too little of all three.

"You're a short time livin' and a long time dead, so let me give some advice my friend: keep your water weak and your whiskey strong, keep your hands in your pockets and you won't go wrong."
-Old Irish "Proverb"

I am sociably nerdy. I enjoy a night at the bar and watching the game (all sports, except NASCAR), or playing video games and watching sci-fi equally. I like going out for a hike or to a rock wall, or staying in listening to music or just the sound of rain. In fact, I find a way to enjoy and be comfortable doing almost anything.

"Ain't got no future or family tree, but I know what a prince and lover ought to be..."

I like finding ways to make people feel special and good about themselves. I’ll treat you like a gentleman should, but with a smile that lets you know I’m interested. I can usually take a hint.

"Cowards die many times before their deaths, the Valiant never taste of death but once."

I won't say no to an opportunity as long as it's not inherently selfish or destructive. I won't miss a potential adventure!

"Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out of it alive."
-Elbert Hubbard (I absolutely looked that up and rely solely on Google's credibility)

I treat all points of view with respect, but take little seriously and love to debate or talk about everything. I’m playful in the way that I will splash in puddles, race you to the car, wrestle if the situation calls for it, but all the while talk about meaning, what ifs, and whatever is interesting at the time.

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood... I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference."
-Robert Frost

"Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on."
-Led Zepplin (mostly because I've always liked how these quotes contrasted each other)

I have an extremely laid back and "arms wide open" attitude, but this is not to be mistaken for aimlessness, indecision, or apathy. Rather, I value spontaneity, diversity (in intention and interest), and passion. I have pursued what "felt right," left my schedule open for surprise, and try to surround myself with people who are the same way.

I'm just as comfortable in a suit as I am in sandals, tees, and shorts. Regardless of season however, you'll usually find me in the latter.

I grow out my facial hair or shave on a whim. I am open to adapt to preference. It's one of my ways of mixing it up.

Many people put weight in the Myers-Briggs (ENFP) and zodiac (Sagittarius) assessments of personality, but I can assure you that neither are accurate about me. Most of my MB scores fall neatly in the middle and my zodiac has never, ever been right.

Profile version 2.9
What I’m doing with my life
I'm repairing violins and cellos in the family shop. I'm good with my hands and have a good feel for curves ;).

I host trivia at Sliders in West Hartford Wednesday nights. Feel free to stop by and be interrogated by my dulcet tones every Wednesday at 7.

Currently looking for something with a more consistent paycheck and not second shift. I've learned my lesson, I want to keep my nights to myself!
I’m really good at
Video games, climbing, writing, making a fool of myself in public.

Running with it.

Usually at making people feel comfortable. Sometimes, as needed, shaking things up.

I'm one of those jack-of-all trades types. It isn't a boast to say there's a lot I'm good at: I wish there was a specialty I did phenomenally.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm short. My eyes (they change color depending on what I wear). I'm intense. I laugh easily and smile a lot. My smile is extremely distinctive and my eyes tend to be looking into whatever and whoever I see as opposed to at them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, anything by Shakespeare, most renaissance plays, Oedipus Rex, classics (mostly plays, I'm dyslexic so reading takes awhile)

b) Anchorman, First Strike, Memento, Lawrence of Arabia, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Dark Knight, the first and third Die Hard, V For Vendetta, anything with Simon Pegg, Fallen, most of the Disney classics (especially Aladdin), and if it has Will Farrel, Vince Vaughn, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, or Jason Segal I could probably quote it from start to finish (I can be really obnoxious to watch my favorite movies with)

c) Delirious?, Dispatch, Jack Johnson, Led Zepplin, The Cars, The Doors, Eric Clapton, Stones, RHCP, Sting, classical (I know my basics), and quite honestly a little of everything.

d) Brooklyn Nine Nine, Game of Thrones (I want the new season naaaao), Boondocks, Burn Notice, The Office, Walking Dead, Suits, every single part of the MCU, and more CW shows than I care to admit (it started with Arrow)

e) Sushi, steak, chicken pizza, German Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, anything Dunkin Donuts, Gobstoppers, Starbursts, all the IPAs, Moscato, and Coke beverages only please

My taste is pretty eclectic.
Six things I could never do without
1) Strong convictions, and perhaps more importantly people to debate them with
2) My best friends/family
3) A good or enjoyable video game, TV show, movie, or book
4) comfortable clothes (don't care much about labels)
5) My computer OR cell, mostly for information and communication
6) A cold beer on a bad day, on a special occasion, or because it's a day ending in Y.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future, my past, and the way things are. I like to watch a person I'm talking to and figure out what their different mannerisms mean until people catch me staring and then try to make it less awkward with a wry smile. Often I'm trying to figure out a pun or joke based off of what someone just said.
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to define typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I talk to myself a lot. I downright babble if I'm tired or hungry (and am probably grumpy, just feed me and I'll be my delightful self again). I also talk to inanimate objects and animals (I promise I'm not crazy).

As thoughtful as I may be, I make a lot of decisions based off of Rock, Paper, Scissors, rolling a die, and flipping a coin (if the stakes are high enough, sometimes all three).

I sing along to most songs. Even ones I don't like. I also carry a few karaoke "set lists" in my wallet.

I have a thing for women in glasses. Wear them on a first date and you win.

I have pulled a muscle playing air guitar.

I am slightly addicted to game shows. A night in with Jeopardy DVRed sounds like a really hot date. I've always wanted to host one, but I know I never will.

I am convinced I'm living the plot of Good Luck Chuck. You should date me if for no other reason than you will find the love of your life shortly after dating me. It's documented.

About half of my wardrobe is Snoopy t-shirts and hoodies. It's a thing.
You should message me if
Something here intrigued you. If you start such conversations trying to figure out whether or not you are interested in pursuing something (like, eventually, a date). I can handle disinterest like an adult, but grow tired of seemingly great conversations that end with a ghost.

Also, I've broadcasted that I'm a short smoker with a taste for beer. I'm willing to quit the smoking for the right woman, but if these things are deal breakers I've done my part to tell you in advance :P.

Last thing: I try to be the kinda guy who messages first, takes initiative, shows interest and all that. But damn, if my three page essay here doesn't prove I can carry a conversation (Well, I sure as hell can carry a monologue) I'm not sure what will. Introductions are awkward, meet me halfway ladies X)
