My self-summary
I love learning and applying my knowledge and understanding. I am driven by both competition and ambition. Wherever my life takes me, I hope it is continually challenging.

My best qualities? I am intelligent and goal-oriented.
My worst? I have poor impulse control and I can at times be socially inept.

For those who care, Myers-Briggs says I'm an INTJ. You can make of that what you will; I don't put much stock in it. I believe that my most dominant personality trait is that I am level-headed.

I have albinism, which prevents me from producing melanin and causes visual impairment, thus the white hair and glasses. Photophobia also follows, so I'm not a huge fan of bright, sunny days or, dare I say, long walks on the beach. On the other hand, I do enjoy the outdoors when the weather is right. Autumn and Winter are by far my preferred seasons.
What I’m doing with my life
I am chasing a career as a Political Officer with the U.S. Foreign Service.

I work as a recruiting manager at an EdTevch startup. I also freelance as a voice actor. Prior to my move to Beijing, I worked as a consultant and, before that, a legal assistant at an immigration law firm in Chicago.

In my free time I like to eat, shop, hike, camp, and play games with friends.

I hope some crisp Halloween evening to dress up as Colonel Sanders and distribute fried chicken from a gigantic KFC bucket.

The first things people usually notice about me
Setting aside the most obvious, I think that I come across as very serious at first. But I'm not.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'm not a huge reader, but I do enjoy a fun war or espionage story or a deep philosophical work every now and then. Examples include:
- Anything Tom Clancy (RIP)
- Crime and Punishment
- Atlas Shrugged
- Catch 22

Movies: I love a variety of movies. I particularly enjoy a good dystopian drama or thriller. They usually make some solid social or political commentary while presenting it in a unique depiction of the world. Of course, I'm not opposed to a good action movie. Examples include:
- The Fifth Element
- Pulp Fiction
- The Matrix
- Gladiator

Shows: I am not very picky with shows, but legal and political shows, dramas and dramedies, and heavier, darker-themed shows are of greatest interest. Examples include:
- Hannibal
- House of Cards
- Psych
- Boston Legal

Music: Classical music and modern music that employs classical stylings are my favorites. I am also a fan of alternative and classic rock. Examples include:
- Vanessa Mae
- Of Monsters and Men
- Debussy
- Billy Joel

Food: Meats, vegetables, fruits, and starches are all OK by me. I'm not a big fan of fungi or olives though. Some of my favorite foods include:
- Steak
- Salmon Sashimi
- Stuffed Peppers
- Cheese Saganaki
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order...
1: The Internet
2: Other People
3: Sunblock
4: Hygiene Products
5: Meat
6: Decadence
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My work; my career goals and future in general; what I should be doing and what I am actually doing at any given moment; how to justify my next shoe purchase...

Oh, and you. ;-)
On a typical Friday night I am
Dinner, drinks, maybe a cigar. KTV would be great but none of my friends think it is fun. 😩
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I almost suffocated to death on the tip of a popsicle that broke off deep inside of my throat.
You should message me if
