My self-summary
I'm not entirely sure what happened to my profile picture, but the centring on the picture's gone wonky and it now gives you a good view over my left shoulder. I'm in there somewhere.

I'm just some guy. I like peace and quiet, thinking, hoping that there is a just universe, being nice to people and hoping that there is pizza. The outdoors is nice; so is the indoors. I think people should be more enthusiastic about the things they like, irrespective of whether they're "normal" or not. Lego is great.

Apparently I am kind and funny. Hopefully you will agree.
What I’m doing with my life
Working to live, then repaying my efforts by spending all that lifetime I've earned on the internet. I accidentally became a trade unionist, so there's that.

I'm pretty much a big nerd, and some of my nerd stuff - and the people I do it with - are quite important to me. I also like theatre, museums, making funny faces at small children and a big fresh duvet.
I’m really good at
Listening. Paying attention. Making roast potatoes and sandwiches (not usually served together). Typing. Failing at dancing. Minesweeper. Doodling. Small romantic gestures. Puns. Definitely puns.
The first things people usually notice about me
I would hope it would be one of my positive aspects, like my impressively mobile eyebrows, or (to quote someone from this site) that I've "got that cute dimple thing going on". More realistically, however, it's probably going to be that I look perpetually knackered.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books are too numerous to mention; Shakespeare, trashy sci-fi, travelogues, classic literature, cheap rubber-stamp fantasy, stories about things that happened, factual books about things that didn't.

Cinema is a powerful art form with the capacity to move you, but it would help if you thought that Ghostbusters was one of the greatest things produced by humankind.

My music collection is eclectic to the point of some sort of disorder; rock, indie, folk, dance, classical random electronica, soundtrack pieces, embarrassing pop that I can't remember why I even own it, and bits of audiobook that I really should take off the general playlist because they never make sense in context.

I like Mexican, I like Italian, I like a good roast dinner, but the sandwich is truly my god. I never said I was a man of complicated tastes.
Six things I could never do without
A functional internet connection. Sarcasm. Hugs. Bread. A pen. Radio 4.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What's for dinner. Intersectionality. Why I am here and not walking in the Lake District. Society and reform thereof. Plots. Outer space. Health. Mental health. Veldspar processing. Whether my friend's cats are up to anything cute. Hugs.
On a typical Friday night I am
Left to my own devices, Fridays are for kicking back and relaxing in comfort after a long week. This does usually involve sitting down with a good-bad film or whatever, but I'm generally open to more interesting offers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am a medical mystery in a number of ways, but most obviously, I am worse at sleep than is reasonable for a human being. Frankly it's a little embarrassing. It's not meant to be that much *effort*.
You should message me if
you want me to write you a tiny poem or draw a doodle. I get very bored in work.
