My self-summary
Okay, I am the quintessential Berkeleyian, free loving, tree hugging, flower childing, social radicalist and intellectual revolutionary. I say this to emphasize the fact that I strive to keep an open mind and desire to interact with those that share this predilection.
I am by no means a "pretty boy" but rather have been described as ruggedly handsome. I am a sportsman, advocate, activist, and all around good guy (but I don't wear a white hat). I love children, animals and root for the underdog, almost without question. I have formal education as well as street smarts, I enjoy working for the finer things in life but try not to overindulge or worship material possessions or the energy they attract.
Life is short and I am looking to enjoy my time with an exceptional woman. Ideally, I would like a long term relationship, but don't mind starting out as friends. My friends call me a soft touch because I am always trying to help people and save the world. I have a good relationship with myself and am looking to add to that with the right connection.
What I’m doing with my life
What I am doing with my life? I don't know, ask me after I am dead. Similar to life, I am quite sure I will have a much more objective and penetrating perspective on my life in retrospect. And there you have it, all the answers after we die. Such a pleasant OK Cupid intro statement, don't you think?
I spend a considerable amount of time reading, too much in fact, when I should be working to finish my first book. Much like everything I do, I am biting off way more than I can chew, so if I am ever able to finish this labor of love, it will be nothing short of a miracle. Actually, I am working on two books simultaneously but that is a dog for another day.
I exercise throughout the week, make an effort to eat healthy, and try to take the time to care about the environment. This means supporting various campaigns, disseminating information, and in general, annoying people whenever I get the chance.
I try and balance my energy between working for a better tomorrow and enjoying the present. To this end, I have spent the better part of the last two decades volunteering in the arena of youth advocacy.
I’m really good at
Talking, writing, taking standardized tests, arguments about philosophy, law, humanities, reciting the connectivity and relevance of human history, thrift shopping, sailing, swimming, basketball, disseminating information, being a friend, fighting the impossible fight.
The first things people usually notice about me
1) Aura
2) Height
3) Eyes (they have been described as deep-set and piercing)
4) Passion
Six things I could never do without
thrift shops, flea markets, yard sales etc.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I like to create balance, I like to focus on the things that inspire, while also considering the problems of the world. I like to critique the world and how it is and then expound at great length at how it should be. I like to make progress toward uncovering the purpose of humanity, the structure and manifest beauty of creation and the interconnectedness of all things. I enjoy a multidisciplinary approach to information and learning, like juxtaposing the physics, the mathematical nuisances that underlie and therefore bind the writing of say a Hemingway and/or Joyce to those underneath the music of Mozart and/or Coltrane and/or the paintings of Rembrandt or Picasso. I like to explore the science of spirituality, and the central role of metaphysics in human history, and world politics. I like to study psychology, especially Jung and dream interpretation, because I believe the whole of human history and endeavor (past and future) is encoded in our DNA strands and revealed through the subconscious mind. Perennial and Transpersonal philosophy and theosophy resonates with me. I like the power of the human imagination, and therefore myths and fairy tales help me understand and connect with our innate and fundamental universal power. I spend time thinking about the building blocks of information and how that ethos connect us to a universal truth and our destiny.
On a typical Friday night I am
I cannot say, but more times than not a typical Friday night involves good food and a movie or book. Usually, I will go to the gym, get a good workout in and then head home. If I am not going out to meet friend(s) to go to an event or social gathering, I will stay home and cook a good semi-vegan meal and then maybe touch bases with selected special people in my circle and then watch a movie or jump into a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't consider anything about myself private. I don't give any information that much power in my chain of being.
You should message me if
You have an open mind, desire to find someone to share times and have the time and interest to invest in a healthy relationship. If you have a kind heart and a cute smile.
