My self-summary
***Now in Bushwick!***

*Apparently, I'm ENFP. Some of you think this is actually important, so I bit the bullet and took a little quiz.

I'm a big geek (I've been playing D&D since the THAC0 days), but I have enough cool cred to hang out with the cool kids. I'm the guy who wants to rock when my nerdy friends are too engrossed in some video game or something to get out of the house and groove with humans. I like dancing, singing, reading, and writing is my passion and most exceptional talent. I'd prefer a monogamous relationship, but am open to ethical non-monogamy. I'm getting into cycling, although my vintage 1970s Free Spirit is really only meant for recreational biking, not transportation. I'm fun. I promise.😛

The first things people usually notice about me
I have presence. People can't help but notice me. This is especially true when I have a chance to perform.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(c)Music: I have and will ever love They Might Be Giants. I'm more interested in learning about what others are into.

(d)Foods: I'm an omnivore: that probably won't change. I don't mind what you eat, but if you ever meet my mother or grandmother, despite exhaustive protestation from you, you will be served something at least associated with meat. Other than that, I respect your diet, and we can even check out the places you like to go to. I love Mexican, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese food, but I'm always up for something new.

(a)Books: Currently reading the George R.R. Martin series "A Song of Ice and Fire." He's a good fantasy writer, probably due to the "RR Effect." Case in point: J.R.R. Tolkien's Hobbit books. Speaking of fantasy series, I got caught up in Brandon Sanderson's "The Stormlight Archive." I have a weakness for sci-fi/fantasy books, but, as a writer, it's a fun exercise to explore genre fiction. There are some unexpectedly GOOD writers who made a career out of genre fiction. Have you ever read anything by Arthur C. Clarke? How about Ray Bradbury?

(b)I go out fairly frequently, but I don't get around to the cinema as often as I'd like. I usually like comedies over anything else. I have a fondness for old movies, sometimes really old. Have you ever seen Duck Soup (seminal Marx Brothers masterpiece) on the silver screen? I have, and I'd love to take you to see it some time. New stuff is good too, and I like big budget stuff, too.
The six things I could never do without
You'd be surprised what the average person can do without, and since I'm selling myself here, it's implied that I believe myself to be above average, so here are some things I can't do without, but neither can most people. Note: forgoing obvious necessities: food, water, etc.

The printing press, or any invention that helps facilitate the proliferation of information; the telephone (and, as an extension of this, the internet), which allows instant transmission of a message to almost anyone on Earth; space exploration, because we're doing a heck of a job keeping this planet alive; all mathematics, because we would still be in the Dark Ages without what math has allowed us to learn about our universe; the spoken and written word, because it's staggering to think of how primitive we would be without the manmade gift of language, and, as social creatures, is vital for communication; and what else? You tell me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My writing career.
How I can be better at being myself.
Driving cross-country to see what this nation is made of.
New karaoke songs to sing.
Designs for board games.
How my family is doing.
If this profile is pretentious.
On a typical Friday night I am
With you. Right.
Actually I've been going to parties and art openings lately. It's a great deal of fun to be in a wide awake city on a Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm an open person.
You should message me if
You want to. I'm always open to new adventures with new people.
