The "playful" in my name refers both to an attitude and profession, as I write plays (mostly comedies, mostly produced). They've been produced all around the world and, occasionally, even New York (usually Off-Off-Broadway).
Born and raised in Chicago, I've been an Upper West Sider for about 20 years. Raised relatively Jewish, I'm now a mix of Jewish-Buddhist-pantheist-atheist-hedonist-humanist. I like the concept of "soul".
I swim regularly, walk zestfully, and travel enthusiastically. I've hung out with penguins in Antarctica, wandered side streets in Transylvania, waded through flooded roads in Vietnam, been to Burning Man five times, and I can also appreciate a quiet night at home with someone special. I love exploring both inner and outer worlds, and I like company as I do it.
Writing fills me with delight. I'm often surprised by what my characters say and think - I'D never think such things. I work damn hard, but I try to balance that with having fun (an often underappreciated concept) and simple pleasures like hanging out with good friends and feeling gratitude for all that I already have.
Oh, and occasionally I like to play with my hair color. Usually I'm my natural brunette, but I've been blonde, blue, purple and various mixes. It's fun to shake things up every now and then.

...maneuvering a wide range in the naughty-to-nice continuum
...taking life seriously and not taking it seriously simultaneously
