My self-summary
I'm just looking for a terrific woman to hang out with -- ideally for the rest of my life. I try not to take myself too seriously but I care deeply about my family, my work, and my friends. I have definite opinions about things but I try to be open to different points of view and new experiences. I'm trying to age gracefully while stubbornly clinging to what's left of my youth. I hope I always remain an optimist.

The inside (intellect, sense of humor, kindness, creativity, passion) is more important to me than the outside. Still, I would love to find a woman who can run a few miles with me and is always up for a vigorous hike in the woods.

Though not artistically creative, I have a great appreciation for the arts, architecture, and contemporary craft (e.g., ceramics, glass, furniture). I enjoy going to art museums and galleries here and when traveling. I'm a big fan of movies, mainstream, independent, and foreign. I love theater (more dramas & comedies than musicals) as well as live music.
What I’m doing with my life
Not as much as I should be romantically or I would not be here. But otherwise -- my work is enjoyable and challenging, my family and friends are great, my health is good, and I have many interests so I'm never bored.
I’m really good at
I can write well. I'm a pretty good listener. I think I'm a good judge of character. I'm probably more fit than most people my age.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hopefully people perceive me as friendly and genuine. I can be somewhat intense at times (especially at work) but usually I'm in a good mood and enjoy talking with people.

Six things I could never do without
It would be very difficult to do without my family, my friends, my health, my job, my sense of humor, and running. Honorable mentions: the outdoors, travel, books, films, music, sports, wine, craft beer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work, family, friends, the future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Could be hanging out with friends, seeing a movie, or just relaxing at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a romantic. Not blindly so, or foolishly so. But even a generally pragmatic realist can enjoy a little romance.
