My self-summary
have been described as a modern day oddity. 41 yr old, educated farm boy w/ good hair, good teeth and good credit (all are extremely rare for a kid from east tx)

a creative mind that requires constant challenges, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. i find joy in working w/ my hands and creating things from scratch. i'm most at peace when sailing or working on the boat, but all bodies of water sooth my soul. (especially beaches)

i have traveled the globe by boats, planes and my stomach, am always looking to see/experience as much of it as possible. no adventure is too extreme or crazy.

i like sunny days and cool nights. pedicures and riding bikes. i rarely capitalize in text or self descriptions.

blah, blah, blah.
What I’m doing with my life
well, i design and build eco conscious restaurants/bars/commercial kitchens. the past few years it's been an overwhelming number of food trucks. shipping containers, an armored truck, ambulance, fire trucks, winnebagos, airstream trailers, anything one can imagine can be salvaged and transformed in to a kitchen space. go green.
I’m really good at
washing my hands.
building things.
going to brunch.
flying kites.
sailing boats.
learning stuff.
talking shit.
bad karoke.
The first things people usually notice about me
my youthful exuberance w/ a veteran's sense of timing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: who has time to read anymore? thanks to audible.com, i'm able to multitask and knock out a few audiobooks a week. my interests are extremely varied, mostly non-fiction, and i really like everything by malcolm gladwell, especially 'the outliers'. just finished 'life, on the line' by grant achatz. if you are any sense of a foodie, it is a must read. also, i have amassed a huge cookbook collection, which i love to experiment with.

movies: also varied, but pretty much anything that doesn't star nicholas cage or jlo.

music: pandora one is my go to. citizen cope, ghostland observatory, hall & oats, lenny kravitz, weezer, sade, lionel richie of course, elton john, spoon, credence clearwater revival, old country/blue grass. my itunes is something of a hot mess, but if it makes me shake my ass, it plays.

shows: power lunch(cnbc), anything on food network except paula dean, rocket city rednecks(nat geo) some history channel shows, animal planet (it's surprisingly human) and of course the evening news(kind of a dork).

food: hello, occupational hazard. most of my life is spent around restaurants, chefs, food, wine, and culinary exploration. there is way too much on this topic to list. food is my specialty, feel free to ask.
Six things I could never do without
tempurpedic bed.
good coffee.
my boat.
my wiener dog dottie.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what the color blue tastes like.

how to become the first caucasian on the cover of ebony magazine.

island hopping.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i secretly like to iron my own shirts.
