My self-summary
I feel like I am a person who even after a thousand words of description would still surprise you. Not that I am surprising, necessarily, but just that I reveal myself over time. Like most people. Let me see if I can't put a teensy dent in those thousand words, though. (Oh, I can.)

Here are some things that I LOVE: candor, flip cup, fate, countdowns to almost anything, docks, charm, big hugs, traditions, California, funny boys, camp, idiosyncrasies, crooked faces, Lake Tahoe, fireworks, sighing, chips and salsa, turning into my parents, sticky Asian rice crackers, side smiles, tiny perfect beach houses, slippers, heartbreaking lyrics, whimsical details, flip-flop tans, clean sheets, batting cages, hybrid vehicles, folding laundry, tart apples, morning, matinees, thick fog, decorative beer pulls, active listening, paying attention, being useful, typing, regulars, things that require 95% luck & 5% skill, data, Gmail Reply All threads, Reuben sandwiches, word choice, hydrangeas, baseball season, thunderstorms... but only if I have my rain boots on.

To keep the balance, here are some things that I do NOT love: crowded places, excessive hair gel, cracks in bathroom stall doors, Nicholas Cage, being a grown-up, fashionable lateness, unprotected left-hand turns, Times New Roman, (parenthetical) song titles, carnations, when things change, any form of the word "tit", magicians, shooting rubber bands, procedural TV dramas, conjugating irregular verbs, negative cheering, thinking of email subject lines, cold tortillas, pirates, misdirected patriotism, fall-able heights, professional basketball, wet jeans, the ends of songs, cinematic hi-jinx, "anyways", morning radio talk shows, spelling c-words with k's, driving in Boston, when teachers put kids on the spot, Brett Favre, changing the bobbin, circling parking lots to find a closer space, MacGruber.
What I’m doing with my life
Taking my entire life, tipping it on the side, and seeing what shakes out. So far, it's mostly been just like loose change and lint. But, I'm optimistic.
I’m really good at
Figuring people out. Creating delicious sandwiches. Providing commentary on almost anything. Bringing fantastic people together. Finding the silver lining.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a fairly distinctive laugh.

Also people unfortunately often notice first how tall I am. But then they forget about it once they know me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: America, America, Freedom, Circle of Friends, The Big House, Live from New York, Pride and Prejudice, A Girl Named Zippy, John Irving, Cabin Pressure.

Movies: Amelie, Good Will Hunting, Gone with the Wind, All the Real Girls, Playing By Heart, The Cutting Edge, Forrest Gump, Lars and the Real Girl, Love & Basketball, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

TV: The West Wing, Sports Night, Gilmore Girls, Jeopardy, Salute Your Shorts, Friday Night Lights, Homeland, Community, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, The League, Top Chef, 30 Rock, Mad Men. I watch SportsCenter in the morning instead of the news. It soothes me.

Music: Not to be like needlessly secretive, but I like what I like and don't necessarily prefer the people who like the same thing. You should like what you like and not care what I think about it. Whatever makes your ears smile, I say. Except Nickleback. Yuck.

I LOVE food. I like eating out and trying new things each time. I also love coming back to an old reliable. I love baking fun cookies and finding exceptional recipes and then throwing a hundred different things in... and sometimes the results aren't great... but every once in awhile, they're terrific.
Six things I could never do without
Really? Family, friends, laughter.

Q-Tips, bobby pins, and corrective lenses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever I'm thinking of - trivial or consequential - I spend a lot of time thinking it... and then overthinking it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Being a discredit to my generation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In the mornings at work, I curl my hair in my office using my iPad as a mirror. It makes me feel like MacGyver, even though I'm fairly certain that would horrify MacGyver.
You should message me if
You got to the bottom of this page and weren't like "Oh, dumb. No, thanks." In which case? Yes, please.
