My self-summary
Look at that smile! He must laugh a lot and be pretty laid back.

I have been fortunate enough to have lived around the world, from the U.S. to Europe to Asia and back again. LA is where my folks live and where all my best friends live, so I thought I would try it again.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm the Director of Performing Arts at a private school. I love going on hikes and being in nature. We have the best sunsets in LA, so I want to take advantage and see as many as I can. I eat healthily most of the time... (There are some foods that are good for the soul, not the body.) I play music, do little art projects, volunteer for TreePeople, and try to be kind to everyone I meet. I have been called a "mensch".
I’m really good at
making people laugh, Thai foot massage, hosting parties, helping with the chores, thinking of the other person, winning every kind of game when money isn't on the line, trying to find fun things to do in this big ol' city, and making omelets.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These are really first date topics, am I right? Here's a quick overview anyhow:

Books:The New Yorker takes up most of my reading time, but excited to use my library card. I loved reading the books "Jitterbug Perfume", "Count of Monte Cristo", "The World According to Garp", and "Galapagos", for a brief summary.

TV: I don't watch TV, but I have streamed Mr. Robot, Portlandia, and Stranger Things. Before that, I think I binged Breaking Bad in a few weeks after it was all over.

Music: Really into different styles of music from Fela Kuti to Radiohead to Erykah Badu to the Beatles to Bob Marley to Kendrick Lamar to so much that I hear on KSPC, KCRW, and KXLU.

Food: I especially love Thai and Japanese food, but Mexican and Korean is always great as well.
The six things I could never do without
peanut butter
sitting by the beach
passport (though it's seen far less action recently)
peanut butter
good friends (many of my friends I've had since junior high)
melodies
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the next four years and what I am going to do to combat racism, fascism, bigotry, and harassment towards others.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging with my buddies, seeing some music, or just relaxing and watching a movie!

You like to touch and be touched.
You take occasional selfies.
You can keep the phone out of sight when we're eating.
You know how to make a meal. (I can, too. Don't get it twisted.)
You know how to make a pun.
