My self-summary
Looking for company for a bike ride, afternoon rondez vous, dinner or a delicious cocktail at happy hour. Preferably with someone who's allowed herself to experience life, ridden a bike downhill too fast with squeaky brakes, skinned her knee falling down on the sidewalk, admired a spectacular view or just the beauty of a cracked city sidewalk, sat in a quiet room with the clock ticking on the mantle, conversation going nowhere, just to please her grandmother, gotten a little crazy from time to time and walked home in the same clothes she went out in, who's funny and smart and can act like Rachel Ray when friends come over but turn into Sasha Gray when everyone leaves...
What I’m doing with my life
Attending meetings, composing emails and writing corporate schlock. Reading menus, road signs, val-pak coupons, subtitles, application-crash messages and large novels that I may or may not ever finish. Watching History channel, Forensic Files, football games, Seinfeld reruns and old Charles Bronson movies. Slowly sipping strong ales. Attempting to make sense of it all even though I'm clearly overmatched.
I’m really good at
Watching instructional Youtube videos and executing on their guidance. Ghost writing. Making people feel comfortable. Conversation. Cribbage.
The first things people usually notice about me
No idea. Probably that I cannot get a loaded steak nacho to my mouth without spilling half of it on my shirt.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a largeish collection of vinyl that is quite random, and also listen to KEXP and KBCS on a daily basis. Spaghetti westerns and mindless popcorn action movies. Bill Murray. Cohen brothers. David Lynch. Jason Bourne. Brothers Karamozov (the excellent Pevear/Volokhonsky translation), The World According to Garp, The Godfather, gonzo journalism and anything Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett etc.
The six things I could never do without
Family and friends, cold beverages and sunny days, toothpaste and toilet paper, stupid jokes and belly laughs, panties pulled to the side, warm bodies, fuzzy feelings and bacon.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Home improvement. Self improvement. Deadlines. Headlines. The route I'm taking to get there on time. How I managed to screw that up. How I'm going to fix it. Where I'm going to go for happy hour.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends, home making dinner, staying up way too late either way.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once spent a bunch of time writing snippets about myself and uploading photos to an Internet dating site.
You should message me if
You are a cute, silly, sexy, smartypants who has checked her baggage and just wants a nice date with good conversation and we'll take it from there...
