My self-summary
Hmmmm. Well, first, a little about what I'm looking for. You are within ten years of my age group (preferably older), tall, sexy, educated, funny, and respectful. Aside from conversing a lot, and having romantic escapes as often as possible, we'd be watching movies, following comedy shows, listening to 80's music, people-watching, dining out, exercising, and well, enjoying ourselves. No criticism. No drama, please...unless it's funny. You are just as crazy as I am, if not more...but crazy in a GOOD way.

Now, about me. I have a lot of energy and passion for living a fun, interesting life, and I've always maintained a good balance between my creative imagination and my real-world practicality. I love to laugh and enjoy myself, and I see no reason to separate my light, happy attitude from any aspect of my life. Travel, art, spiritual and physical fitness, and having thoughtful conversations are all things I'm drawn to by nature.

I grew up in California...and Greece. I got my BA in Athens. Yet, I've also lived in other parts of Europe, specifically, in St. Andrews (Scotland) and London. Oh, and one of the most flamboyant and picturesque places I've visited was Italy. Seeing David (the statue) in Florence was a memorable experience. So were the Italians.

But, at heart, I guess I'm an Anglophile and paradoxically, a hopeless romantic. (That does not mean I like romantic comedies and lame declarations of love). Oscar Wilde: "There are two tragedies in this life. One is not getting what you want. The other is getting it". Isn't that one of the coolest quotes? Just had to stick it on here....
What I’m doing with my life
I recently became the marketing manager for a start-up company, I'm a tutor for two different agencies, a Greek-School teacher, and an unpublished writer who just keeps writing, secretly, until the time is right. And I have an MA in philosophy. So there. If I get a PhD, you can call me Doctor Server. I can't be happy if I'm not doing something creative and I learn foreign languages for fun. Right now, I'm learning French and Italian. (Joie de vivre...totally my vibe). Last but not least, I meditate.
I’m really good at
satire, perhaps?
The first things people usually notice about me
are my jungle-hair and twinkle in the eye. Then, my overall quirkiness, even though I think I look sophisticated when lost and drowning in my own thoughts and staring out the window with a faint smile on my face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Like all things, my favorites change. Right now, I think my favorite books would be: A Different Mirror, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, Jacob have I Loved, Malcolm X's Autobiography, Of Mice and Men, The Giver, Les Miserables, Crime and Punishment, Siddhartha, Madame Bovary, and Night.

I have to admit, that though I love Hollywood, I have a thing for foreign movies, especially old Italian movies, like 8 1/2, The Great Beauty (ok, this one isn't old, but whatever), La Dolce Vita, Bread and Tulips, The Last Emperor, The Dreamers, and Visconti movies I can't remember the titles of. I also like French movies. I recently saw this morbid comedy called Paris, and, yeah, I'd watch it again. I have a Woody Allen movie fetish, as well. Finally, anything that includes Johnny Depp, Uma Thurman, and Kate Blanchett is hot and worthy of devouring multiple times.

Shows? Orange is the New Black. (Red just makes me laugh, and the overall cast is pretty interesting). I also enjoyed watching Girls. All in all, I don't watch that many shows, but when do, I get the whole season from Netflix, because I can't stand waiting to see a series in weekly increments.

As for music, my favorite radio station is 105.3. And I guess I also count as a Foghead (104.5). So, contemporary alternative is a must. But, I also workout to classic rock (including Jimi Hendrix) and dance re-mixes. 80's disco and electronica is always welcome. So is classical music (e.g. Vivaldi and Brahms).

Now, food is just one of my favorite hedonistic pursuits, in general. I'll go for Italian and Indian on any day. San Jose and Santa Clara have a pretty good selection of restaurants. And I absolutely must have a tostada salad at least once a week, with plenty of sour cream and guacamole. So, Mexican is also fine with me. Chinese and Japanese cuisines are yummy. I will go for French, on occasion, if Fondu is included, and Austrian or Austrian inspired food is delicious. Crepes are a must, and so is American comfort food. Breakfast is the best part of my day, especially in a diner. Of-course, I grew up eating Greek food, as well (but I can't cook it).
The six things I could never do without
Food, books, music, laughter, friends, freedom
I spend a lot of time thinking about
injustice, stupidity, vanity, human behavior, how to make my life more fulfilling, my family, history, and other cultures
On a typical Friday night I am
I like trying new restaurants, spending time with family and friends, writing in my journal, traveling, going to musems, reading, having challenging discussions, working out, and just seeing the humor (and absurdity) in everyday life.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not willing to publicly admit private things!
You should message me if
You think I'm cute, enjoyed reading my profile, and match what I'm looking for. If you have an accent, or if you're from a foreign country, especially Latin America or Europe, I won't deny that I find it super-appealing.
