My self-summary
Thank you for paying a visit.

Perhaps it is easiest to say that if you find the following video of me dancing at the behest of my lil cousin - from a few years ago - to be charming, cute, or other positive qualities - I think it would serve as an excellent barometer as to whether we'd like each other. But maybe I'm wrong about everything? :)

What I’m doing with my life
I am a conceptual artist, a kind person, and bring out the cool in you?

I'm building a business to incorporate my many varied yet overlapping skills in coaching, instruction, the arts, alternative medicine, and politics into a force to be reckoned with.

I have a radio show that focuses on music and politics. And related to that, I am a musician and have an installation music show that I put on every few months that I have been working on for many years with a funny title that people always say is too long. But I'm okay with that last part.

Going places, doing things. Even if those places are close to home, and those things are simple.

I'd like to improve my cooking skills, become stronger at organizing and managing my many projects and continue to expand and grow my friend and social networks both here in Olympia and in some other cities I'd like to take my work.
I’m really good at
thinking across discipline, engaging, the creative enterprise
The first things people usually notice about me
my sweet smile, my nice eyes, my positive attitude, my humorous ways, my friendliness, my empathy, my big fukinMouth, my dancing, my theatrics, my poetry, my absolute historicism...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
When I was a kid they said I had dyslexia, I was like I'm just a kid and how come you spell the word for the problem with reading all funny and artful?? They acted like reading was only something that happened in quiet libraries in solitary moments. People read all day everyday just to get by and I'm happy to report that as a grown ass man, I have a fine book collection to aid in my reflections.

some favorites are:

Eric Wolf -- Europe and the People Without History
Stephanie Coontz -- The Way We Never Were: the 1950's and the Nostalgia Trap
Sidney Mintz -- Caribbean Transformations
George Lipsitz -- Footsteps in the Dark
Robin D. G. Kelley -- Africa Speaks, America Answers
Cedric Johnson -- Revolutionaries to Race Leaders: the making of african-american politics

all of those books can change a life

I like music a lot and find it to be a great place to think about the relationships and values of the world.

some of my favorite jams are:

Sun Ra - When There is No Sun
Cloud One --- Atmosphere Strut - early house music
Chic -- Soup For One
Jack DeJohnette playing with Bobby McFerrin is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen
Stevie Wonder is it - the original drum master
Gil-Scott Heron -- Rivers of my father
De La Soul -- The Stakes is High
The man in purple - If I was your girlfriend - The Ladder - Starfish and Coffee -- him solo in a bathrobe and highheels playing electric guitar in the bathtub with bubbles
Roberta Flack --Trade Winds
Alice Coltrane, Alice Coltrane, and Alice Coltrane on the harp and on the piano in my heart forever making it better
Max Roach was the god, Abby Lincoln was the goddess
Roy Brooks and the Artistic Truth - was it

Food: gotta have it, got-ta got-ta have it. The better, the better. Let's eat!

Television is one of the most important inventions we've known. Corporate hell has used it to perpetuate it's mad rule over our lands and minds. Fuck them. Imagine if all TV shows were as thoughtful as The Wire? That's an example of what I mean about reading: there are so many powerful ideas and stories coming to life in a show like that, that you could spend months and still have more to discuss. I like thinking of material as beginnings to endless conversations, that may have rest stops here and there, as opposed to things that close the ability of people to talk together. That show lays out a model for how to think in more complicated terms about the political dimensions of life than something like cable news. The latter reducing reality into a set of points that can be quickly run through to decide reasons why people have nothing in common, when the opposite is true - ultimately making it much easier for the corporate devil beasts that own television networks - that being the few that own every aspect of contemporary life - to keep the very force that could challenge their hellish rule over our wonderful heaven gone foul thinking that we have nothing in common with people who are from different places and have somewhat different experiences and style than us. To that I say: The Wire is the fire and bring me more, please!
The six things I could never do without
that is a silly question, really. Really, that is a question? Silly!

--- Okay not 6 things, but how about 6 words, twice, with an exclamation point at the end?!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How we can change the world into a place where the earth is inhabitable for eons to come and society is a socially equitable, just and joyass place for the most people possible with better music, much much longer lives, so much better food, and so much less stress that we dance and joke all the time because it's the only thing that a reasonable society would do if it could.

How to be more productive. How to practice the right things and show up in the right ways. How to reduce stress in my life and contribute positively to more people's lives.
You should message me if
You're on point.

You think of yourself as a kind person and other people might actually call you that from time to time as well.

You love learning new things and seek out growing in sometimes unexpected ways.

The hips don't lie?

You value and build strong partnerships, but aren't sick with the madness of finding one person that will be the everything for everything and can be creative with your relationships taking them more on a case by case basis than something handed down in a set of orders at the beginning of time.

None of the above applies but something moves you. I see people as people first, dating and romance is all extra and special if that what it is, but I appreciate your time and thank you for reading my notes on the matter.

All my best.
