My self-summary
I should really update this...

Hi. My name is David. Have you noticed a lot of people post a bunch of unrealistic BS on these dating sites? We list all these things about requirements and expectations on finding our One True Love. We are here because we are looking for dates. Yeah, sure, we all want to find that Perfect Soul Mate that God or Fate or whatever has chosen for us. But let's face facts, that hardly ever happens. And it damn sure doesn't usually happen with the first person who asks you out. I use to fool myself into thinking that was how it should work and ended up in relationships that got stale pretty fast.

I decided the best way to use this website is to cast my net wide. You don't have to be a member of MENSA or a beauty queen, but if you are moderately intelligent, not hard to look at and have a sense of humor that I can relate to, I would like to meet you. Race or religion doesn't matter unless it is something you are hung up on. By meeting, I mean going out on a casual date with no preconceived notions or assumptions. I am looking to just meet people and have a good time. (the phrase 'good time' doesn't necessarily mean sex, it doesn't necessarily preclude it either) If I eventually meet someone and we decide life isn't worth living without the other, we can worry about that when it happens.

I am electric, eclectic, and eccentric
What I’m doing with my life
I am having a real good time right now. I recently made a commitment to work on getting healthier and more fit. My birthday was in May and that was my new years resolution. I have actually started seeing results! I cut out beer and mostly given up soft drinks and coffee and have been careful about what I eat. I don't deprive myself though. When I want to cheat once in a while, I do. I have been walking a lot and exercising and drinking lots and lots of water. I feel great! I have even been getting in touch with my spiritual side. I just bought a rubber boat. Anyone want to go white water rafting with me?
I’m really good at
Conversation and putting people at ease. Unless it is a first date over dinner. Who ever thought it would be a good idea to get to know someone like that? First off, everyone is wondering if they have broccoli between their teeth, then they go to a movie where they can't even talk. I say lets go somewhere or do something fun. That way if you can't hold up your end of the conversation, I can at least find things to talk about besides the people at the next table.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't have a typical sense of humor. OK I lied. The first thing is that I am not real tall. Let's just say I am bigger on the inside than on the outside. Don't get me wrong, I drive a plain jane Toyota so it isn't like I am compensating for anything but I don't have a Napolionic attitude either. The next thing is my smile. <--I have been told it has actually gotten me hired before! After we go out you can let me know the third and fourth things you noticed.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite books to read are any satire or anything about science or philosophy. I get bored if it gets too heavy though. I don't read books as often as I use to. I just don't have the time for it anymore. Other priorities get in the way.

As far as movies go, I like comedies and movies that are a little bit off the wall. Idiocracy and Trainspotting come to mind at the moment as two of the better ones I have seen.

I can take almost any music in small doses. A few years ago I would have said old rock but I have heard all those songs about a bazillion times and I got annoyed with all the oldies stations so now I have been listening to a lot of jazz and blues and a lot of obscure music on online radio stations. (I love broadband) I never used to like country music but I have discovered a lot of good stuff coming out or Texas, such as Hayes Carll and James McMurtry. (This weekend I bought a Carlos Santana and a John Lee Hooker CD)<-- OK that was quite a few weekends ago but I still listen to them quite often.

I like nearly any kind of food except for peas and sweet potatoes. I don't like soy sauce either (Does that count as food?
Six things I could never do without
I would have said my puppy dog. But I have been doing without him for two months. The little fecal-noggin got into some poison and died. I miss him; he was my little buddy. I have another puppy dog and he tries to take his place but it isn't the same. <--- OK this was a long time ago too, but this morning (07/30) I met a min-pin that I fell in love with and will probably get it.

So it goes. OK! ALL RIGHT! Maybe this will make you people stop complaining.
1)Maybe you
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday. Mostly today though. Not so much yesterday.
On a typical Friday night I am
I do my best to make sure Friday nights are not typical. If I don't have anything going on I am more likely to be playing on the internet than watching tv.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If I was willing to talk about it, it wouldn't be private now would it?

OK I thought of one. For some reason I have gotten the idea that it would be fun to go to a karaoke bar. You should message and talk me out of it before I lose my karaoke cherry. Or either give me a good reason to do it.
You should message me if
You should message me if you want to meet someone interesting and fun to be around. I am really here to meet people in real life, but I am all about online chat buddies too! (Edit, I changed my mind, i really do not want a textual relationship)
The two of us
