My self-summary
I want to connect emotionally, intellectually and physically (not necessarily in that order). My hobbies are various if you must know, spanning mechanical, communicative, and outdoor-oriented ones. Bicycling, navigating, flying, percussion, museum hopping, and good logical or evidenced arguments are some of my recurring afflictions. I can be passionate about statistics too (long live geekland!). I am a music addict - classical, jazz, latin, and choral, and then some more. rumba is a plus. A worldly outlook is a non-negotiable must. The US is not the world, just a part thereof. Is the empire declining? I have discovered the secret of life. It is rather simple and ubiquitous so I don't even have to assert it (fun to look for it jointly). When I grow up I would like to be a writer, and not just of walls....
What I’m doing with my life
I watch infomercials late at night. I try to live crazily. And looking intently to that which seems familiar because it is not. Wondering what happens to the negated moments with people you appreciate. Riding my bike, and moving. Connecting to my childhood dreams. Finding interesting ideas.
I’m really good at
Solving tomorrow's world problems, tomorrow if possible. I can worry as good as the best. Eating. Stimulating my imagination. Remembering old arguments while I read related accounts in the liberal eastern media (NYT). Routines that make time for other routines. Analysis. Paralysis. Finding rhythm in just about any object.
The first things people usually notice about me
My intelligence masquerading as a normal dude. Or my eyes. They also notice the intense curiosity.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
La Fiesta del Chivo
The Black Swan
Michael Keegan's book on Military History
Cien Años de Soledad
Physics for PResidents
RIchard Dawkins, THe Greatest Show on Earth
Come, nene, come....
The six things I could never do without
6. Good friends!
5. Great music.
4. Education.
3. Imbibing fluids.
2. The sun.
1. A gorgeous and intelligent woman.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What is quantum entanglement and its implications for my next life adventure. How to apply statistics to optimize my decision making. Where did entropy come from? How come self-help books dont? Can someone explain to me how come some people answer that the suffering of starving children concerns them less than the welfare of animals?!? What am I missing here? Something is not right with that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends or sailing or enroute to some special activity, perhaps even looking for Geritol (organic, of course).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think I did. I wasn't abducted by aliens ever, I swear.
You should message me if
You would like to know more or if you need a sailing partner right now or someone to carry your bags for an extended trip to los Andes. Your pic looks like you, not a decades old FBI-lab extrapolation (though time travel is not totally bad). Risqué activity is strangely alluring to certain adrenoidally sensitive parts of your central nervous system....
I am also looking for a few good extra friends (men or women)
