The basics. I am 59, twice divorced (don't run yet!), professionally employed and living in Saco. I am kind, caring, compassionate, passionate and low maintenance. Financially and emotionally stable. Currently pursuing my BA in English Lit (5 credits shy of graduating), with the dream of teaching within my grasp.
I'm a chardonnay-sipping, charcoal-grilling, kind of guy, who is as comfortable reading poetry as he is the financial section, someone who views the grocery store as a museum (I am also a professionally trained chef). I am a man who will do his best to make you laugh, help you relax, encourage you think outside the box, and prompt you look at the world from a different perspective. I'm generous with my time and emotions, but also enjoy alone time. I will have your back when the going gets tough and give you the shirt off my back at a moments notice.
I'm looking for...
I'm looking for a Sunday kind of love. You know what I mean by a Sunday kind of love, don't you? It's that smooth, easy, effortless kind of love. It's that first cup of coffee, Boston Globe (or the NY Times) spread out on the bed, jazz playing in the background kind of love. It's that silence that says everything kind of love. It's that working in the yard, dirty hands, finger tips smelling like tomato plants - or mowing the lawn - kind of love. It's that "have a great time hangin' with the girls, see you when you get home" kind of love. It's that knowing a great kiss is more about lips than about tongue kind of love. Real.Natural. The way love is supposed to be kind of love.
My free moments are spent reading and writing poetry, biking, kayaking, cooking, entertaining, walking the beach, and working out, just to mention a few. In addition - when time allows - I enjoy attending the theater, hanging out in coffee shops, watching the harbor bound oil tankers pass through Spring Point, watch movies and debating topical issues with friends. Spending more time on vacation is a priority for the coming year.
About my job...
Professional position at a local university, managing skilled and non-skilled trades personnel.
How I spent my last vacation...My last true vacation was week spent at my timeshare in Rockport, Maine. Plans for the coming year include another visit to Quebec City and Toronto, a trip to California and/or Florida. Anyone want to join me?
My favorite dish or recipe...
As a chef, my favorite dish is whatever I am cooking at the moment, and if you are lucky, cooking your favorite dish.
Finishing up my BA in English at USM.

Books/Magazines Currently On My Nightstand: Toward an Open Field - Poets on the Art of Poetry, Thomas Jefferson - The Art of Power, An Exaltation of Form, The Origins and Development of the English Language. The Atlantic Magazine. Also just finished rereading "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'brien.
Favorite Foods: Eclectic tastes are all over the board, but you can tame me with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
