My self-summary
I like me. I'm loving, outgoing, compassionate, friendly, and a smart-ass. I get a lot out of life and my experiences- I get excited to see friends, to be with my famalam, to do work I think is worthwhile, to be out in the city at night, to learn new things, to talk to strangers, to shoot pool, to crack jokes, to connect with somebody, to meet new people. I get excited about life in general.

I am at once nurturing, genuine, and warm, but I am also quick-witted and more than a little spicy. I find edges, sauciness, and general smart-assery to be sexy.

I'm an adult and I love being able to connect intellectually and on an emotionally mature level, but I'm also not above piggybacks and horsing around :-)

I would like to meet a man who has both a playful nature and a certain gravitas. Someone who has known strong emotions and wonderful people and trying times, perhaps. Someone ready to love and be loved.

In general, people with any mix of the following make my day: expansive love of humanity,
an interest in mindfulness, meditation, and yoga
emotional intelligence
liberal views,
social skills,
and a spicy sense of humor.

Healthy self-confidence, excellent spelling, a little hipness, or a love of languages and words don't hurt either. I don't expect anyone to have all of these traits, but just know that whichever of them you possess get a ton of appreciation from me.

I am original, intelligent, a good giver of love.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a clinical social worker. I do psychotherapy with kids, teens, and families in a Boston Public School. The work is always rewarding, often stressful, and never boring. I live in Boston and am from the area. I try to move through life getting the most out of it as I can, sharing as much of that experience as I can with the people I love, and hopefully giving back to others as much as I have gotten. Wow, that was a lot less cheesy in my head...

I love stopping to enjoy simple things in nature, and I do so both unconsciously and consciously. The conscious aspect is a due to a love of life and living in the present. I would go so far as to say I am in love with the world, with the best aspects of the human spirit, and with the possibilities and meaning in our lives. I truly enjoy the rare folks who are also smitten in this way.

Being in love with life and the world doesn't mean turning a blind eye to the cruel, disheartening, or downright ugly facets of reality; just as the process of loving a person is not free from its difficult or painful aspects.

I would say I'm in love with the potential in all of us, the experience of living, learning, and overcoming, the beauty so evident in nature and art, and the interconnectedness and universality of the human condition. Just being in the presence of these things gives me that ***wonderful, expansive feeling of being in love***. Really and truly. I am often moved by the world around us, and moved by the ways humans can move each other. Stop me if I'm getting too meta.

I am very lucky that even in my workweek, I am regularly filled with this euphoric feeling. I delight in the way that the best of the human spirit can be nurtured and activated through relationships between people. I see this again and again with the brave and difficult work my kids and families do in therapy. Given the right conditions, people are able to show their best selves, and, man, is it impressive!! I so enjoy seeing these people I care about reach their potential and develop more empathy and shared strength with those around them.

I am excited to meet someone who also has a true love for humanity, someone whose best qualities lie in how he understands himself and in how he builds and cultivates his relationships with others. If this sounds like you, I can't wait to hear from you.
I’m really good at
relating to other people, understanding social subtext, making witty comments, making people feel special, making people laugh, and using inappropriate humor. I'm also pretty decent at most sports, bar pool, connecting with kids, anything to do with words, slang or language. I love learning and I enjoy classroom learning in almost all subjects. I love me some crossword puzzles. Most importantly, I like to think I have a strong enough sense of self that I can examine the many aspects of myself that I am not as good at, and I am willing to hear ways in which I can better myself without getting overly defensive. I especially love this trait in others, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a shorty, only 5'2''. I'm active and I love to talk and get to know people. I have strong opinions and I care a lot about the world around me. I'm anything but apathetic. On the playful side, I have a naughty sense of humor and a love of clever street slang as much as those good GRE words.
