My self-summary

How's it going?

IMPORTANT: I'm happily married to fyrecurlz.

I'm an odd mix of highly driven one moment then complete slacker the next. I get just as much enjoyment out of running 4 miles as I do lazily sitting on the couch watching the Empire Strikes back like I'm still 10.

I keep busy with work and family which doesn't leave time for much else. I'm a controls engineer: which basically means I solve problems by automating machines. It's pretty dry so I usually don't chat about it.

I'm most passionate about my dog and my son (in no particular order). I could chat about them for a long time.

I'm one of those shy cliche engineers that stubbornly try to buck the stereotype.

Locations: I grew up in Ohio where I lived for 30 years before moving across country. Next I lived just north of Salt Lake City for a year. And I've ended up in western Oregon. I've traveled all across the east coast and across the country as well. I have a well rounded view of the US culture, and someday I'd like to visit more outside the US than the Canadian Niagara Falls and a Jamaican resort.

Health: I'm pescatarian and I workout religiously. I never get enough sleep and I have the occasional drink.

I have quite a few hobbies and interests that I fantasize about getting back to some day. I like to do the following:
run hiking exercise, ultimate Frisbee, guitar, walk my dog books music, video games movies scuba diving Space Exploration running beach cheetah
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a control engineer at a local company that pays the bills. the work is pretty easy and lately I'm looking for more challenges. I'm saving the world one plc at a time. But that's not good enough for me. With the environmentally issues and the political climate I'm searching for a way to do more.

I exercise, read, learn and try to be a good husband and father (and pet dad)
I’m really good at
Being a Dad, Being a Dog's Dad, being a provider for my family. And I'm a good husband. I'm a great engineer. I'm really good at staying healthy.

I'm good at keeping promises, organizing, loving others, being ridiculous, confusing and randomness. ...also, humor!
The first things people usually notice about me
my mood: the emotions are right on my sleeve.
