My self-summary
I have a lot of hobbies. I like trying new things, even if it won't hold my interest forever. I know how to knit. I own one sweatervest. I like craft beer but I also drink PBR sometimes.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been in Jacksonville since 2006 and I've lived all over, but Riverside really feels like home. If I'm out, I've usually walked to Birdies, or I'm doing trivia at Dahlia's. That, or I'm eating something very bad for me at Kickbacks.

I also like to take pictures (even though I'm mediocre at best) and go to the beach. I grew up on a beach, and 40 minute beach trips are the only downside of living in Riverside.

When I stay in, I spend a lot of time watching Netflix, or reading in my hammock. I occasionally work on software and hardware projects in my spare time, but doing that all day at work sorta burns me out on it as a hobby. I also secretly like boardgames a lot.

For vacations, I really like music festivals. I try to go to Bonnaroo every year and hit a few smaller ones nearby as well.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at making people laugh. I don't take myself very seriously and being able to laugh about (almost) everything is one of the things that makes life liveable to me. I can also make a pretty good steak.
The first things people usually notice about me
It probably depends on what stupid thing I'm doing at the moment. Possibly my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I sortof just wrote a big list here so skim through it for something you like I guess.

My favorite book is probably Dante's Inferno. I've read it 4 or 5 times. I also really liked The Picture of Dorian Gray and Starship Troopers (the book, not the movie).

I have lots of favorite movies. It'd be hard to pick a favorite of all time. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pulp Fiction, Little Miss Sunshine, pretty much anything Wes Andersen made. As far as comedies, I really like Judd Apatow's stuff like Knocked Up. Forgetting Sarah Marshall was really good and I wish I could actually see the musical.

My taste in music is pretty eclectic. I can find something I like from pretty much every genre. In high school I went to a lot of punk shows like Strike Anywhere and Against Me. Of course, I also enjoy a lot of the 90s rock and grunge stuff, and classic rock too. Nirvana, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, etc. I also have some music which, while I don't think I'd be into it if it came out now, I was when I was younger so I still listen to it sometimes. Things like Blink 182 fall into that category I think. I also like rap. I like Wu Tang a lot, I was lucky enough to get to see them twice before they really stopped touring together.

As for TV shows, my taste tends to be a little geeky. I love the new Doctor Who, I loved Firefly. I like comedies, with The Office, Parks and Rec, and 30 Rock at the top of my list there. I also own the box set of Seinfeld DVDs.
Six things I could never do without
I guess it's a cop-out to say "the internet," but it's still so amazing to me to be able to know anything about anything instantly and basically for free. Other than that, I'd probably be pretty content with something good to read, something to study, something to tinker with, and something good to eat.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a strange amount of time thinking about what my Netflix suggestions say about me as a person.
On a typical Friday night I am
At Birdies dancing like I'm trying to win an award for most awkward white guy on the planet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The most private thing I'm willing to admit is that when I was a really little kid and my mom would read Cat in the Hat, I used to cry at the part where he leaves. There may or may not be video of this.

You should message me if you like dirty jokes, obscure trivia, or riding bikes to a park and laying in the grass.
