My self-summary
I'm the sort of person that can have strong feelings about statistics and scientific methodology.

You use partial Eta² in a mixed model ANOVA when you're trying to report a main effect? I'll challenge you to a drunken brawl, even though I never drink alcohol. So probably just a brawl.

You omit the "partial" from "partial Eta²" when reporting your partial Eta²? I won't even challenge you.

Addition: I've since moved on to methodology in general and getting mad over questionable research practices. This might have something to do with my master's thesis being a meta-analysis and reading shoddy papers gets to you if you do that and are me.
What I’m doing with my life
Becoming a research psychologist, probably wasting most of it (my life). (Yes, I got kind of desperate with the name.) Also, all sorts of media consumption and pen&paper roleplaying. I also like to read, switching between books (fiction, non-fiction), news, webcomics, blogs, comments on either and all sorts of stuff that is organized in a wiki structure. (Some of the worst offenders being Wikipedia itself and TVTropes. Oh dear, TVTropes. D:)
I’m really good at
Statistics (or so I'm told), getting people I work for to think I am more competent than I think I am (not consciously, though), being really smart about being a huge idiot, finding problems. (Be it people's, system's or something else. I seem to have an aura of trustworthiness and a knack for living in an world where systems are not always perfect. Sometimes people approached me at train stations and told me of their children, their alcohol problems or just asked me if I worked there and could help them.)

The first things people usually notice about me
Depends on the person and the context. Sometimes it might be my long hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've recently finished Ursula K. LeGuin's The Dispossessed and liked it very much. Before that, there were many books by Pratchett, Miéville, Gaiman, Gibson (William). I also liked the two zombie survival books by Max Brooks. I also enjoy reading subject books, sometimes. (Right now I'm reading Animal Behaviour by McFarland, I've had a friend gift me a book on microbiology, I bought the Handbook of Psychopathy..)

As of yet, I'm still unable to verbalize any clear pattern in my favorite movies. Science Fiction are a yes, so is much fantasy. Anything where the world is mostly in ruins. Uprisings (be it apes, robots, zombies or plants) are nice to have.

Shows: Most recent additions to my list of shows I've watched and enjoyed: Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles; True Blood; Batman: The Animated Series; My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic
Soon to be added: Life (BBC documentary)
But I've watched many more series in the past and still like them, so yeah. Anime is also not a no. A friend and I are going to try to watch Full Metal Alchemist - Brotherhood.

Music: Hot damn. A lot. Diverse. I used to have a preference for stuff with guitars, but I've branched out heavily. I tend to enjoy it, though, if there is anything odd about the music. I like to imagine that I enjoy new and novel impressions. (Addition: Right now, Cream and Devo are dominating my music listening.)

Food: Cheesy. Spicey. My parents were so kind to plant habanero in their garden for me. Awesome! :D But it's sort of hard to strike a balance between "Aaaahh, I am BURNING! I want to die! My senses start failing because of the pain!" and "What a nice aroma those fruit have." with habanero. (Also, a lesson I've learned the hard way: If you handle something like habanero or similarily hot.. WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY before you go to the toilet or before you for some other reason come even remotely close to your genitals with your hands. Same goes for eyes.)

Classy end for this section.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever is in front of me. Or behind me. Or in my peripheral vision. Or farther away.

Also, about how the mind works/might work, why I am still awake at this hour and how I can help the greatest cooperative effort known to me (i.e. science).

On the other hand, I don't spend enough time thinking about the stuff I should think about. Because I usually work for researchers, what I should think about of course is confidential (Well.. Not "of course". But now I've worked two times for people on the cutting edge of a field, where new areas are being developed and once for a project managed by a federal police. One is very interested in keeping the things that are done secret because other people could scoop the research, one because.. I guess because of both terrorists and confidentiality of personal data of people.)
On a typical Friday night I am
That changes every three months. Either I don't notice that it's friday, because the week is too homogenous (between semesters) or the weekend did already start a day or two or I'm kind of glad that I don't have to give attendance somewhere for two days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I wish my accent when speaking English was more Peter Sellers and less Günther Oettinger.

I secretly love humanity as a concept.
You should message me if
It is your wish to do so. Follow your own initiative.

I've read on someone else's profile something along the lines of "Don't message me if you're only thinking with your genitalia."

If you read this.. If you ARE thinking only with your genitalia, PLEASE do contact me. I'm being literal. If you have a nervous system (or something equivalent, it doesn't have to be a -nervous- system) in your genitalia capable of complex thought and volition and control of the rest of your body.. PLEASE, I would very much like to do some research on that. This would be a scientific sensation! And a regular one, too.
