What I’m doing with my life
In a recent dream I looked down at myself and saw that I was Robocop. I thought "Holy shit! I'm Robocop! I'm fucking awesome!" Then a voice said "Be careful, that costume is really expensive," and I realized that no, I was not Robocop, I was just PLAYING Robocop at an amusement park.

In my awake life, I quit a stressful publishing job in NYC and moved back to Toronto to find my true calling. I thought it would take 3 months or so but it's been 3 years and I'm still trying out different things. In the meantime, I write nonfiction books for kids, take classes (improv, comedy writing, magazine journalism), and run a terrarium business from my kitchen, and volunteer (TAS & NDP).
I’m really good at
making things
imagining things into being
getting to the heart of the matter

summoning cats
The first things people usually notice about me
hair colour? loud laugh?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I prefer to read nonfiction.

I like Bukowski, Al Purdy, and John Donne poems.

The Agenda with Steve Paikin, this weird kid's show with live action toy trucks that speak French

I'll watch nearly any documentary but prefer to read a lot of reviews before choosing a regular movie.

Some of my favourite musicians: Neko Case, Gillian Welch, Cat Power, Joni Mitchell, Queen, Rodriguez
The six things I could never do without
swear words

The six things I could definitely do without:

I spend a lot of time thinking about
old buildings and rusty stuff
words and different ways to arrange them
the mechanics of humour

alpaca farming
On a typical Friday night I am
anything but freestyle dancing. i'm an inhibited dancer. choreographed is okay. there's a video called "Best Bluegrass Clog Dancing Video Ever Made" that's made me really want to learn to clog dance.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I want to meet someone who can't keep their hands off me.
You should message me if
you have something interesting to say, or something boring to say in an interesting way
