My self-summary
So, me...I'm from Long Island, NY. I graduated from SUNY at Buffalo and moved down here right after. I'm a big Yankee fan so Red Sox fans need not apply. :)
I'm shy but none of my friends will agree with that. After I'm comfortable there's nothing shy about me but I have a tendency to freeze when confronted with a cute guy or new friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Working, working, and more working. I've recently been promoted to an assistant store manager 30 miles from home. So when in not working, I'm driving. Haha. I'm moving up quickly in the company so I stay as focused and driven as possible. Summer is supposed to be the slow season but unfortunately it's not so far.
The theory goes that if you do the things you love, you'll meet people with the same interests, and voila! Well, I LOVE my job. However, I work with mostly women who could be my mother or grandmother and it's making any free time I get just me-time.
I just adopted a 4 year old puppy so I'm spending a lot of time with her trying to build a trusting relationship and training her how to sit (which she can't seem to fathom).
I’m really good at
-My job. Sometimes I even surprise myself with the people skills I've somehow acquired.
-Problem solving/puzzles.
-Being really lazy when I get a day off.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes and my smile or dimples. But then I get shy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm interested in a wide variety of books. I'll be honest, I loved Harry Potter. Recently I've began to read David Sedaris and Augusten Buroughs and almost anything my kindle will suggest for me. I like to find new writers with first books rather than serial writers that crank out a new book every month.
I don't go to the movies much but my DVD collection consists of animated movies like Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. and old musicals. Plus the usual cult classic comedies.
I'm addicted to shows I don't want to be addicted to like Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives but I can't stop watching because I need to know what happens. I love The Office, Community, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family. I watch Adult Swim every night.
My pre-sets in my car: 40s, 50s, Dance/Electronica, and Classical Pops. Whatever.
As for food, I'm a "fat kid"--I could eat constantly if I had the opportunity and I pretty much do. Thank goodness my metabolism keeps up with me. I'll eat most kinds of food but I'm essentially a meat and potatoes kind of girl. No seafood though.
The six things I could never do without
My comforter-it's way big and way fabulous.
Hair ties. My hair is too thick and heavy to leave down. It drives me nuts-even though everyone yells at me for 'hiding' it.
French fries. I never get sick of french fries.
Thunder storms.
Adult swim-I've become so accustomed to watching it every night before I go to sleep that now I can't do without.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I don't particularly think of any one topic. I usually make lists: what I have to do in what order at work, at home, errands. If I plan right, I can get it done fast enough to have more down time.
It takes a while for me to unwind from work so I think about that for a while too.
I think about when I'm going to find someone who will make me happy and I him (cliche!). And lately, and REALLY SCARY, I've been thinking about babies. I've always said I'm never having kids, and all of a sudden, I see babies everywhere. No rush though, no rush. Ugh.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. It's usually the end of a long day and an even longer week. If I had someone to motivate me-I'd be happy to occasionally go to a chill bar and have a couple drinks. I've done my time of crazy bar nights and mornings and I and my liver can't take it anymore.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well it's not private, but it's weird. I'm afraid of dinosaurs.
Yes, I know they're extinct.
You should message me if
this works: How much does a polar bear weigh?

Enough to break the ice.
