My self-summary
I'm quiet and serious, but I'm also laid back and have a good sense of humor. It usually takes me a little while to really open up, but otherwise I think I'm pretty easy to be around. I like to have good, intelligent conversations but I'm not so much into small talk and chit-chat. I always try to be honest and respectful, and I expect the same in return.

I'm a bit geeky so I love sci-fi and fantasy, etc. Plus I'm pretty much always reading history of some sort.

I love the outdoors - hiking, biking, etc. - and occasionally hang out at bars provided they're not too crowded and noisy.

I also love to travel, and have seen a lot of the US as well as Korea and Iraq, and I'd love to see more of the world.
What I’m doing with my life
Pursuing the American dream, I suppose. Settling into my new house and making time for my hobbies and friends.
I’m really good at
Cooking, painting, identifying songs after hearing just a bit of them, stoically putting up with adverse weather while hiking or camping...
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall and quiet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Mostly Indie but also some alt-country and classic rock. Too many to list.

Shows: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Daily Show, the Colbert Report, Parks and Rec, Peep Show, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Arrested Development, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Community, Danger 5, TNG

Movies: Anything by Wes Anderson, Jean-Pierre Juenet, the Cohen brothers, Miyazaki or Guy Ritchie, and anything else that's intelligent and well-made. Don't usually care for dumb comedies or action movies unless I'm just chilling with friends.

Books: Almost anything historical, a little sci-fi and fantasy now and then, plus random stuff like Heart of Darkness, 1984 and Wuthering Heights. Oh, and Cormac McCarthy novels.

Food: Anything not too greasy. I love all kinds of spicy world-foods (especially Thai and Middle Eastern) and I'm always down for trying something new.
The six things I could never do without
besides the usual friends, family, etc...
Music
Craft-brewed beer
Spicy world-foods
The outdoors
Seeing beautiful new places
...and I guess my computer, since it's also my stereo and tv and basically all-in-one entertainment system.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything...I have a vivid imagination and my mind sometimes wanders all over.
On a typical Friday night I am
Varies from having a quiet night in to hanging out with friends at a chill bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I hate large groups of people, so I avoid clubs and concerts and any other crowded, noisy kind of place. It's much nicer to be somewhere where you don't have to shout to have a conversation, and where you're not constantly bumping into other people.
Also I tend to be best at conversation one-on-one. The more people in the conversation the more I keep to myself. I hate fighting for attention and trying to make myself heard.
You should message me if
If you think we'd make a good pair. If you want an interesting person to hang out with, or a boyfriend you can trust not to play any stupid, immature games. And I really want to find someone physically fit and active who will go out hiking, biking, and camping with me.
