My self-summary
My name is Ronie with one "N." I don't spell it that way to be cool. You see, my mama ain't from around these parts. Where she is from they spell it with only one.

I like to think that I am funny and laid-back. But by no means am I the funniest nor the most laid-back and I am ok with that.

I am trusting and believe in random acts of kindness. I am definitively progressive and that controls my aspirations. I'm open-minded (and hope you are too). I don't think I'm nerdy but I've been called nerdy and I don't like to argue. I am surrounded by competitive people but think competition is dumb.

I grew up in New York and moved here from Philadelphia about a year and half ago. I have traveled extensively and can't wait to get back on the road. A road trip to Kentucky is imminent and a trip to Thailand is in the mix.

People tell me I am really patient. I don't mind if things take longer than they should. The way I figure it, what is the rush? Which is a good segue into the fact that it makes me uncomfortable when people give wait staff a hard time. [That job is tough; be nice.]

I save newspaper articles that I like. Thankfully e-mail and the internet helps me ensure that this quirk doesn't turn me into a hoarder. I am not sure what I am going to do with the articles. Suggestions are welcome.

I started learning how to play the banjo recently. It feels weird taking up music as an adult but I am having a lot of fun. I wish grad school had not robbed me of my hobbies for so long.

I like to laugh and surprises. I like good food but don't define good as fancy. I hate to cook for myself but love to cook for others.

I am relaxed, gregarious, and thoughtful.
What I’m doing with my life
Past - "Law Clerk," which is a fancy way of saying I was a ghost writer for a judge. I wrote his opinions.
Present - Public Interest Attorney for People with Disabilities
Future - PhD Student
Far Future - Professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies (Maybe)
I’m really good at
finding hidden treasures in thrift stores; catching things in my mouth.
The first things people usually notice about me
are my glasses. "They're vintage" [he says sarcastically].

I don't have many pictures with my glasses. I'll post more when I can. Also note, I have longer hair now. There's one picture up that kind of looks like me now.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
My friends.

LGBTQ Rights. I'd like to become a professional LGBTQ advocate.

When I am on this site, I like to think about what anthropology would tell us about OKCupid. But alas, I don't know jack about anthropology.
On a typical Friday night I am
hopefully, out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cry during really bad movies.
You should message me if
you want to.

Also it is kind of important to me that you identify as a feminist. Obviously, that can mean many things. The only thing it shouldn't mean is cultural feminism; we probably wouldn't get along.

* I probably won't message you first. This is because I have read too many profiles in which the person has deleted her profile two, three, four times. Which leads me to believe that this website is probably just a small step up from a bar full of drunk men hitting on you.

So send me a message. It doesn't have to be witty or brilliant - it's just an e-mail.
