My self-summary
Petite, athletic designer with easy laugh and love of art and adventure. Especially fond of racquet sports and skiing, love to cook for friends and family. I love my work and am very good at it. Three grown sons who make me proud and who make me laugh. WASP background (have you read The Big House?), but wary of those who need to cling to it. Love a challenge, learning new things (recently learned to identify 2 new mushrooms, and am still here to write this after turning them into a ragout). Voracious reader, fiction and non. Favorite places are New York, Martha’s Vineyard, and of course Paris. Looking for a good friend to do interesting things with if that leads to more, excellent!
What I’m doing with my life
Working really hard--lucky for me that is the same thing as playing really hard
I’m really good at
Design, tennis, skiing...and my new love, encaustic painting. Actually, can't say I'm "really good", but I like it enough that I think I will become good.
The first things people usually notice about me
This one is difficult to answer, since I am not the one doing the noticing, but probably my smile and my friendliness.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Kind of obsessed with "Hamilton"--seen it four times, would happily see it again. On the whole, however, tend to gravitate to Off Broadway. Generally prefer non-fiction/memoirs...right now reading "Hillbilly Elegy", by JD Vance, but love a good detective/police novel as well...deep into the latest Tana French at the moment. Also, have decided to tackle Infinite Jest this year (and it will probably take a year)
The six things I could never do without
There just aren't six. Period. I like too many things and at this stage in the game, refuse to edit. So there!
On a typical Friday night I am
Cooking for friends
