My self-summary
Sucker for Montauk bonfires, hiking, night swims, Mister Sunday dance parties and outdoor showers during summer months. Speaking of... ever bring a beer into the ‘ole outside shower? Recommended. Coffee is an equally respectable “outdoor-shower-go-to” if it’s before noon; or, beer before noon is cool too if that’s your thing. I won’t judge.

So. Besides the outdoor showers thing.

I enjoy the changing of the seasons (did a stint on the west coast but WAY happy to be back), non-pretentious art galleries, healthy cooking, rock n' roll and film. Coffee, brunch and the entire Sunday morning experience replete with bacon, Chet Baker, pajama pants and the NY Times is pretty sweet too.

David Byrne said "the body understands music before the mind" and I have to agree. Dancing, and nearly any activity that gets me OUT if my head (I'm a pretty cerebral dude), is a BIG thumbs up for me. That includes yoga, weights, hiking, active beach time and more. I enjoy a healthy lifestyle and it'd be great if you did too. :)

All said, I LOVE being a man and I try to be the best, most authentic version of “me” possible. Like any New Yorker worth their salt I work very hard; this said, I constantly temper this inclination and try to honor the present moment. After all, that's all we ever have.

Old soul. Dual passport holder. Live downtown.

"Why do we exhaust ourselves wearing masks for people who need us to be other than our real selves? I recommend removing the masks and seeing who stays." – Jamie Catto.

I’m really good at
• Procrasticleaning
• Baking cheesecake (I am the master and thou shalt knee before me)
• Guitar noodling (retired indie rock band guy now entrepreneur)
• Getting up without an alarm to any predetermine time down to the minute.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Find me in the psych. / spirituality / pers dev. / philosophy sections of McNally Jackson. Seneca, Marcus Aurelius (& all the Stoics), The Power of Now, Alan Watts, David Deida, Sam Harris, Joseph Campbell, Nassim Taleb, Gladwell, Rumi et al. Every single written and spoken word by Pema Chödrön. If Carl Sagan is not your hero it's because you just don't know enough about him yet.

Movies+TV+Film: The standard go-tos like Colbert Report and the latest TED talks (here's one of my faves). Movies ==> Zeitgeist: The Movie, Lost in Translation, Anchorman, Say Anything and nerdy stuff like Berserk. Foreign films when I want to feel smart (admission: I leave the subtitles on).

Music: MJ, Fugazi, Nick Hakim, Lianne La Havas, Fleetwood, Bowie, Tamaryn, LCD, Wild Nothing, George Harrison, Jesus Lizard, Smiths, Ryan Adams, Modern Lovers, Bonobo, Police, Sabbath, Colin Hay, Talking Beats. New wave.

Food: I'm happily on the paleo / gluten-free / chocolate-peanut butter ice cream bandwagon.
Six things I could never do without
Two for now.

1. Espresso
2. Connection (internet + interpersonal)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Serious stuff: "No mind" states that come with dancing, art, sex, music, etc. The universal intelligence of nature. Can spiritual practice and atheism co-exist etc. Humanism.
Not so serious: Cuteoverload.com, puppy piles, fashion, Techmology, and Rad-dudes.com of course.
On a typical Friday night I am
Decompressing, in line at Whole Foods or out with my amigos!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
