My self-summary
You could call me a nerd, geek, scientist, or gamer. I love nature, eSports, and intelligent/witty/clever conversation. I am looking to meet someone I can spend time with just hanging out on the couch, as well as exploring the outdoors or trying new restaurants.

I am new to the greater Boston area and looking to meet people!
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally, I'm a scientist. I currently do research in the biological sciences in a lab, and in the past conducted ecological studies in the field.

Personally, I'm a gamer. I love going to conventions and tournaments when I can, and love competitive gaming and spectating professional matches.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at viewing both sides of an issue (devil's advocate). I also have a talent for understanding what people are trying to say. If someone is ever hesitating trying to find the right word, I can always supply one that is exactly what they were trying to say.

Ironically, despite reading other people well, the words I say sometimes don't express what I mean. I get myself into trouble by misspeaking a lot.
The first things people usually notice about me
Everyone says that I give amazing hugs, and that I have a nice smile.

I often have people calling me an idiot while laughing and rolling their eyes. There is a fine line between genius and insanity - I try to take that line and draw something with it!

Six things I could never do without
Going for walks - I like to wander the neighborhood for some fresh air, and I also pace around while I think.

Almonds, beef jerky, and dried fruit - I often get cranky in the mid-morning and late afternoon without a snack.

A blanket that isn't tucked in so I can stick my feet out when i sleep - I swear, all temperature regulation comes through my feet at night...

Internet access - Over half of what I do for work and relaxing at home involves the internet.

Verbal or mental sparring. Whether they are well-written characters, a skilled opponent, or a clever friend, I need someone to engage and sharpen my mind with.

You! <3
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about everything! I tend to get excited and talk too fast trying to get all my thoughts out at once. I like to understand all sides of a situation, to really think it through.

I love learning about the world and watching nature documentaries. I read xkcd and especially love his What If series. All the time I realize I want to know more about a topic, and start googling, and wind up hours later with my head buzzing with all kinds of tangentially related topics.
On a typical Friday night I am
Judging a Magic tournament, reading, or chilling at a bar with a few friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm interested in learning to dance! I took a bit of swing in college, but the people in the club were more clique-y than I could tolerate. Still, I love learning how to have precise control over my movements, and communicating that to a partner with trust and subtlety. Plus, it is a lot of fun!
You should message me if
You should message me if you appreciate wit, humor, and intelligence, or you should message me if you are passionate about any of the things that I say I "love" throughout my profile!

I'm looking to meet new people in person. Let me know if you are up for something simple such as lunch, coffee, or a museum, to get to know each other.
