My self-summary
Hi, I'm Ben. Born and raised Georgia Boy and about as far from the stereotypes as can be.

I'm a fluent speaker of German and Spanish, intermediate speaker of Esperanto, and god-awful speaker of French and I have a ton of fun learning new things. I've got enough games to open up a small museum and I like to talk about international and national politics to no end. I'm the punniest person you'll ever meet. I think I'm pretty damn awesome.
What I’m doing with my life
Doing IT work at a small company.
I’m really good at
Figuring things out. I don't stop working on things until I've got it!
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a know-it-all. Unfortunately, it makes a lot of people think that I'm trying to show them up and act like I'm smarter than them. But I promise I'm not. I just like sharing interesting things that come to mind!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

My all time favorite book is Don't Sleep, There are Snakes by Daniel Everett. I'm also a big fan of Blake J. Harris's Console Wars. Also, I have every issue of Guinness World Records since 2008. As far as fiction goes, I really like House of Leaves and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I love me a good Tarantino flick. Also, I'm a big fan of "so bad it's good." Birdemic, The Room, Super Mario Bros.: The Movie, Samurai Cop, etc.

I honestly don't care much for TV. I have a pretty sizeable collection of anime box sets and stuff, and I'm torn between Neon Genesis Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell for my favorite.

I like a lot of alternative rock. Radiohead, The White Stripes and anything else Jack White had a creative hand in (Even that stupid ICP song he produced), and Modest Mouse are big on my list. I also listen to a sizable chunk of Japanese music, and I love Polysics (as seen in my profile pic costume).

I'm far from a foodie, but I'll eat just about anything. The only thing I won't eat is mushrooms.
The six things I could never do without
1. My video game collection.

I'm a collector, and I spend more time collecting games than playing them even.

2. The internet.

The internet is probably the most important thing in this modern life.

3. WABE 90.1 FM

It's literally the only station I listen to. From Morning Edition to This American Life, and from the Second Cup Concert with Lois Reitzes to Jazz Classics with H. Johnson, WABE is the soundtrack for any time I'm in the car. (But for some reason I can't stand John Lemley)

4. Wikipedia.

This is kind of cheating because I said "the internet" already, but Wikipedia is super important to me. I can't go a few hours without looking something up.

5. My siblings.

My brother and sister and I have developed a strange sense of humor that only we understand and I love it. We come up with hilarious impromptu improv sketches with jokes that would make absolutely no sense to any outsider.

6. My '92 Jeep Cherokee.

A Jeep as old as me. It's beat up, rusty, ugly, and dented up, but it gets me from point A to point B, and that's why I love it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future of technology. Especially self-driving cars. Those can't come too soon!
On a typical Friday night I am
Either playing a game or watching a movie. If my friends are off work then I'll hang out with them, but it's usually inconvenient.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am deathly afraid of butterflies.
You should message me if
You're a girl with a short skirt and a looooooong jacket!
