My self-summary
At one point in time I would have described myself as a nice guy. Unfortunately "nice guys" have somewhat ruined that phrase (and fedoras). So now I just like to say that I try to be a gentleman. And I leave my old fedora at home, hidden away in a box of shame.

I think the best way to get to know someone is by hearing what they're passionate about. My greatest loves are travel (sadly this one has not been properly nurtured, but I'm working on it!), animals, and fiction. Reading and writing occupy a great deal of my time, and if you want me to never shut up then just ask me about one of my stories.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently traveling through Europe, after which I'm returning home to the United States. My goal is to see as much of the world as possible, so my life is a near-constant pendulum of exploration and home.
I’m really good at
Writing, cooking, solving puzzles, comedic timing, dry and sarcastic humor, giving compliments, and the right partner can get me to dance... although I'm quite a terrible dancer.
The first things people usually notice about me
My fashion sense. Or that I'm secretly a cat standing on the shoulders of a dog, wearing a giant overcoat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
To keep this short, I won't list all of my favorites! I am a person who enjoys many, many things, and fiction is my biggest passion. Good fiction will get me every time.

Books - Let Me Tell You A Story, Attachments, The White Tiger, The Book of Strange New Things, Cloud Atlas, The Dresden Files, Codex Alera, Millenium Trilogy (AKA Girl With The Dragon Tattoo), High Fidelity, Life of Pi, Discworld, anything by Neil Gaiman.

Movies - Star Wars, Moulin Rouge, Love Actually, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, terrible B-movies, and most anything else with a sense of fun to it.

TV Shows - Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Sherlock, How I Met Your Mother, Doctor Who, Arrested Development, Supernatural, Daredevil, Veronica Mars.

Music - Within Temptation, Lindsey Stirling, Owl City, Alphabeat, Eisley, Sarah Brightman, Butterfly Boucher, Muse, The Killers, Yoko Kanno.

Food - Yes please. Seriously, good food is like magic.
Six things I could never do without
1. Something to write with/on.
2. My family.
3. Freedom to explore the world.
4. Friends.
5. Good company.
6. New experiences.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Fictional worlds and characters, commonly ones that I proceed to commit to paper.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out with friends or being a homebody. But isn't that response nearly as cliche as "I never have a 'typical' Friday night!"?
You should message me if
I'm something of a hypocrite - I feel like this is arguably the most important section of any profile on OKC, but I honestly don't know what to put here. I'd say message me if you want a pleasant conversation though!
