My self-summary
Recently I read that fiction is a great tool for addressing challenging personal issues. With your permission (and gratitude to Dorothy Allison and Virginia Woolf), here is my fictionalized summary of a typical, outstanding weekend.

Friday am: Coffee and news, a quick walk with the dog and off to Zumba. I stop for a spinach feta wrap at Starbucks and then head into the city. My client and I tour the client's facility and then I facilitate a training session and discussion. Following my presentation, several of the participants stop by to continue the conversation. I am thrilled.

In the early evening, I cook a fragrant dish, set the table, open a bottle of wine and relax with music as I wait for friends to arrive. BUT WAIT... we have gotten to know each other very well and have clicked. You are there with me, cooking, dancing to great music and relaxing together. Soon friends join us. We light candles and start talking. Hours later, we finally move away from the table. Someone begins to play the piano and you pull out my old guitar which is rarely played. We clean the dishes together....

Saturday I sleep in and then go to shul, knowing that we will have plenty of time together later. You stay home to read and hang out with the dog (or whatever else you want to do). After staying a long time to catch up with friends, I return home in plenty of time for a long afternoon nap or walk together.

In the evening we have dinner at a Spanish restaurant. We had thought about going to a play or listening to music at the bar in the neighborhood but time flies. The owner and wait staff have cleaned all the glasses and reset the tables when we leave.

Sunday we pack a bag with chocolate, cheese and crackers, dried mango, wine, water and a blanket. We take a quick drive to the front of a hiking trail in the mountains. And it's the beginning of another extraordinary day together for which I am extremely grateful.

What's your fantasy typical weekend?
