What I’m doing with my life

I am currently a piano technician. My tasks focus on making actions feel and play like they are new again. It is very sensitive and precise. I'm always learning how to develop a keen sense of touch. Hopefully I'll begin to learn piano tuning and other aspects of a bygone era skill.

I'm the percussionist for country artist (Jessica Lynn). We have 2 PBS specials nationwide a live album and at the end of the month our first studio EP will be released. Our latest single 'Not your woman' and music video was recently released with great reviews. Preparing for our third US tour. Have played France, Canada and next summer should be the UK and more of Europe. We have opened for Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Chase Rice, Jake Owen, Montgomery Gentry, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Clint Black, and others. I love touring and performing.

I play percussion and sing with Armelle & The Handjive Tribe. We play and sing original and traditional kids songs with a focus on multiple languages, culture, and style. We just released out first album together and it's quite fun to listen to!

Also play for a friend of mine in a folk/pop trio. Learning new Jedi skills of creating 'panty splashes' while doing this! 😂
I’m really good at
*Giving massages

*Hand writing and musical manuscript. People have noticed and commented.

*Making sound effects

*Public Speaking, presentations, interviews

*Remaining calm in dramatic or aggressive situations

*Making others laugh at my own expense

*Drumming or any percussive skills

*Proper Etiquette

*Timing of "That's what she said" jokes (As of late, I refer to these jokes as "phrasing" instead of "that's what she said")

*Organizing. I worked a brief stint as a professional organizer. Was quite interesting

*Drinking IPAs and tasting differences and be able to talk about them

*Cooking and making desserts
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm 'weird'. I make sounds and I do impersonations of Jim Carrey.

Probably that I am tall and that I look younger than my real age. I get upset sometimes when I am not asked for ID.

My etiquette. I believe in manners, respect, chivalry, and 'chivery'. I'm the kind of guy that your parents would like!

11 Great Date Ideas:
1. I think a great date would be a nice reading/discussion over tea somewhere. I enjoy going to libraries (I'll even sit on the floor in the aisles just reading random books) and prefer a paper book to an e-reader.
2. Have always wanted to get really dressed up (like tuxedo and gown or semi-formal-ish) and do something 'normal' but see how people react to very elegantly dressed people.
3. Donate platelets together!
4. Cooking something together.
5. Scrapbooking
6. Pretend we have never met and then use loud/lame pickup lines in some establishment. Act like they work.
7. Go to a bookstore and leave notes to future readers in copies of our favorite books (post-it notes obviously).
8. Write a piece of fiction together. Ask strangers when/if we get stuck.
9. Going to the new cat cafe in the lower east side!
10. Visiting at least 1 new place each in NYC.
11. Busking

The Devil Wears Prada

Willy Wonka (both old/new) but preference towards original

The Shawshank Redemption
Wedding Crashers
The Pursuit of Happyness
Pulp Fiction
The Marx Brothers
Classic and true comedy and they were also extremely talented musicians. I love anything in IMAX. Definitely worth the extra $ to see at the theater.

Ender's Game

I thought I would be the last to say this but I'm really liking Justin Beiber's new music. Turkuaz is funky as all hell and The Suffers are pretty sweet and groovy. Getting more into Twenty One Pilots and into Electro Swing as of late. I mostly listen to 94.7 Nash FM in my car. I'll flip to 93.9 WCNY at times. I really like The Band Perry, Zach Brown Band, Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks and how can I forget Jessica Lynn! Two Steps From Hell. If you have been to the movie theater, you most likely have heard their music as they write most of the trailer music for Hollywood. Muse, Animals as Leaders, progressive rock, metal, Jamiroquai, Daft Punk, Frank Sinatra, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Post-Romantic periods, Any military concert or jazz ensembles, Raymond Scott Quintette and I am a huge fan of John Williams, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Deadmau5, Zedd, David Guetta, and Tiesto.

I enjoy @Midnight (and I tweet about them), South Park, Big Bang Theory, Bones, House, Tosh.O, and Family Guy. I love FX and their programs such as Archer, Louie, Nip/Tuck, Fargo, and American Horror Story! I also really like Bar Rescue on Spike TV, Barefoot Contessa with Ina Garten, Chopped, and Diners, Drive-ins & Dives on the Food Network.

Ok, even if it's like one date or something, who wants to make this with me? www.carissashaw.com/2014/08/buffalo-chicken-lasagna.html
I love lasagna and mixing in Buffalo Chicken?! I'm gonna faint.
My favorite food is vodka chicken riggies from my hometown in Utica, NY. It is an Italian dish and only native to the area. Also, half moon cookies which is where they were originally made. Probably known to you as black and whites (which taste awful). I should include tomato pie, greens, and Saranac Beer/Soda. If you want, you can try all of these on a road trip with me.

Pepsi Blue (I wish it would come back)
Moscow Mule
Shiner Holiday Cheer

Favorite candy:
Haribo Gummy Bears, Swedish Fish, Skittles, Almond Joy, Reeses Peanut Butter cups...probably in that order. Although coconut, peanut butter, and chocolate are a weakness of mine.

Favorite car:
Tesla S, Shelby Super Snake and 1969 Shelby GT500. OMG, I'm wet! Wait...can guys get wet? Let me check...yes.

Favorite states:
Texas, Montana

Favorite colognes:
Thallium, Joop, Hugo Boss #6, A*Men, Givenchy Pi.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Don't let the 'casual sex', 'more sex driven', or 'kinky' deter you. I'm being honest and throwing everything out there. Unfortunately that's what shows prominently on my profile but none of those adjectives solely define me.

I'm very touchy feely so if you like getting massages, then you're in luck because I love giving them. (Also like receiving them too).

I cry without fail at every video of servicemen and women coming home and surprising their families.

I really love getting my hair brushed or cut.

I like to vacuum, iron, sweep, mop, cut grass, and clean windows. It's not an OCD thing, but these actions provide a satisfying result when done a particular way.

Visited 44 of the 50 United States.

Cards Against Humanity...I hold nothing back.

Tall girls really make me happy! I like someone I can see 'eye to eye' with! Short girls are fun too. (Can you believe some girl sent me a message and started calling me out and shaming me for saying that. Are you f*cking kidding me!? Who says that to a complete stranger? Oh, did I mention she was absolutely serious too. Great way for me to NOT WANT TO DATE YOU). End rant.

I have some wedding music picked out. Debussy and Faure.
You should message me if
