My self-summary
Well, I really don't like to summarize myself, but I've put this off for too long! I'm a student of linguistics in Utrecht, almost done, only have to do that damned Master thesis! In Utrecht I have an improv group named Alter Ego. We play theatersport. That's kind of a big thing, there are tournaments and everything, really. I've always lived in Arnhem, but I recently moved to Velp, which is really close to my beloved city. I like to go out, I like to visit the Barron, and the Move, and sometimes Dollars. My part time job is the schouwburg theater of Arnhem, and café Mahler.

I play guitar and sing in the Barron in Arnhem on Wednesday nights. Jam sessions, really nice.

I love the movies. If you like it, I've probably seen it. I really want to see everything! It's hard work, but you get so much in return. I'm also a huge youtube fan. I like Vsauce, Scishow, Minutephysics, Numberphile, etc. I also like to watch a lot of Christopher Hitchens debates. What a guy! He was the best. I want to be him. Well, except for the being dead part.

I also like to go bike riding. I have twice biked from Arnhem to Utrecht. It's quite an experience, everyone should do it. It makes you realize how small our country really is.

I make background music for poems for a duo named Kila&Babsie. They make very cool poetry about everyday stuff. We have had a couple of shows in Utrecht, like on stukafest and de Culturele Zondag.
What I’m doing with my life
Finishing my linguistics master, working in de Schouwburg, impovising theatersport, going out, playing guitar, singing in a Rockopera.
I’m really good at
Improv, naming movies and actors, debating the non-existence of God, thinking of math problems that are to difficult for me to solve (I do this all the time, example: my room has the same circumference as the number of square meters. So I've spent alot of time figuring out how that's possible. Eventually I figured out the formula).
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm quite tall, and I change my hair often, from long to short, beard, sideburns, clean shaven, ring beard, goatee, beard, repeat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Blade Runner, Dark City, the Matrix (all 3 parts!), Reservoir Dogs, Alien, Mr. and Mrs Smith, Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, 300, Watchmen, The Dark Knight (Rises), Heat, Irreversible, 2001 space odyssey, etc. Mostly Sci-fi, Action, with a philosophical side. I used to be into art house, but it's such a hit-and-miss genre, and I was disappointed too often. Also, Broken Circle Breakdown, Avatar, Irreversible, trainspotting, 21 grams, etc.

Books: Almost no fiction, unless it's a must read (so I did read Harry Potter, LOTR, a Song of Ice and Fire, the Godfather). I prefer informative books, like books by Bill Bryson, Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens. I just finished shakespeare by Bill Bryson and The Bonobo and the Atheist by Frans de Waal, now I'm reading A History of Christianity; the first 3000 years, by Diarmaid MacCulloch.

Music: Anything with guitars, Fink, Radiohead, Bloc Party, System of a Down, Tool, a Perfect Circle, Fleet Foxes, Alt-J, JJ Cale, Ane Brun, Lamb, Steeleye Span, Interpol, Brown Bird, Johnny Flynn.

Shows: Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, ER, Sopranos, X-Files, Homeland, Girls, Seinfeld.
Six things I could never do without
My Guitar, my bed, that's it, I guess. Unless we're also talking body parts, then I could name some more.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The non-existence of god, the objectivity of morality, the fluidity of time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working in the Schouwburg, watching a movie, or going out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is that I can make people laugh by dancing, even though I think I dance very well...
You should message me if
you like a good discussion, you want to meet me in person for no serious reason, you want to give me some unsolicited advice, make an intelligent remark, tell a dirty joke.
