My self-summary
I'm a polyamorous computer geek. I'm looking for more company either on a regular or occasional basis; ideally, a meeting of minds and not just bodies.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a large company, writing and debugging computer programs. To some extent I do the same at weekends...

I climb things (mostly climbing walls...) and run a bit (mostly Parkrun at the moment).

I’ve managed to grow a few edible or attractive things in the garden. Most recently: sugar snap peas and strawberries.

I share a house with my girlfriend. We are in a polyamorous relationship.
I’m really good at
I occasionally have some luck with pointing a camera in the right direction. At least two people here are using pictures I’ve taken on their profile (no, neither of them are me)...
The first things people usually notice about me
My hat?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Ask what I'm reading currently if looking for a conversation-starter, I guess...

SF. Banks, Asher, Reynolds. Recently: Ancillary Justice + sequels (Leckie), God's War (Hurley), the Sarantine Mosaic (Kay).

Comics: The Invisibles, Sandman, Giant Days, Dumbing of age. Comixology is my downfall. Recently: Bone, The Ruby Equation.

History: Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire. Recently: The Last Empire (Plokhy), Jerusalem (Montefiore).

Political biography. Peter Mandelson's was surprisingly sympathetic, Blair's failed to make him appeal at all. Currently reading the Moore bio of Thatcher.

Film: Trainspotting, Scott Pilgrim, The Big Lebowski, Heathers and the three Star Wars film. (Maybe I'll accept there’s more than three now…) Films with unsympathetic and/or flawed characters go down well (e.g. Burn After Reading, One Night At McCool's). Hugely enjoyed the 2016 Ghostbusters.

TV: Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Buffy. Scandinavian police procedurals. BSG. Like (apparently) everyone else, sad that there isn't more Firefly. Arrow, I like the combination of superhero fantasy and slightly trashy soap.

Six things I could never do without
Books, computers, company, err.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most recently, probably watching an episode of some Scandi crime drama or perhaps the latest DVD to arrive in the post.
You should message me if
...you think we might get on.
