My self-summary
I'm a clinical psychology grad student at IUP. Coming to IUP has been a big change for me: a new career, a new school, new towns. I work both in Indiana and Pittsburgh. It's been a fun challenge.

I've lived in a lot of places-- Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, New York City, Balitmore, DC, Paris, Geneva... and now Indiana, PA. Montana is probably my favorite place; my mom lives right at the base of the Beartooth mountains. I used to travel a lot but less so now with school.

I enjoy good food and cooking, good conversation, being active (most recently-- Zumba, yoga, Insanity, running, hiking... I used to bike and ski more often than I do now and will again some day), music, theatre, reading, dancing, learning...
What I’m doing with my life
Studying, learning, exercising, cooking, laughing, crying, loving, living...
I’m really good at
packing, reading maps, driving manual transmission, trying new things, stumbling upon good restaurants, doing projects, feeling at home virtually anywhere, trying new recipes, making pie, being nice to children, strangers and animals...
The first things people usually notice about me
Although not the first thing, I guess it is related... most people are pretty surprised about my age. My horror at jeans worn below the butt and disdain for excessive selfies seem to confirm my age.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books-I'm a sucker for good fiction and autobiography. Ex. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Midnight's Children, Anna Karenina. Recently, I enjoyed Oliver Sack's autobiography.

Film/tv--Most but not horror movies. I used to have a standing date to the latest science fiction or super hero flick with my dad. Ex. Star Trek, X-men. But I don't get to do that often since we don't live in the same state. I also enjoy foreign films, yes, even those with subtitles.

Music- I enjoy live music, particularly outdoor summer concerts, anything I can dance to, world/African music, indie, folk, classical, jazz, blues. Heavy metal and misogynist rap are not my thing.

Food- an appreciation of good food is important to me. I enjoy cooking, seeking out new restaurants, having dinner parties. I was vegetarian in my 20s but am now an omnivore that likes healthy food with moderate doses of decadence thrown in.
The six things I could never do without
green vegetables

Family, friends, and oxygen are life sustaining essentials, not things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what I should learn and do next
how to be more present in my life
what makes a meaningful life, meaningful work/career...
my next vacation, adventure, culinary challenge
On a typical Friday night I am
I go to undergrad rage parties or bars that sell shots for 50 cents looking for young men who like cougars.... Thank you to all of okc youngins for your messages indicating this role for me. I'm sure I could teach you some things; It's just not my thing. All to say, like most people, I do not have a typical Friday. What I do depends on my mood and energy level-- dinner parties, restaurants, breweries/bars, outdoor adventures, cultural events, Netflix...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a cat named Ted.
You should message me if
you are outdoorsy, fun, stable, caring, love LGBTQIA folks, and can do your own laundry.
