I read to learn and I know that it is a very inefficient method to obtain knowledge. Unfortunately, being human at this evolutionary point and technological stage, I have no choice but to read to learn, grow and evolve from the ignorance that was unfortunately bestowed upon me by my parents, society, and culture. Some people read for pleasure and I respect that; I'm not one of those people. With that said, I have enjoyed Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs. The first book that I ever read that I enjoyed reading was in 6th grade: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. It captured my imagination and enticed my intellect.
