In 2014 I bought a house in SE Portland. Less than a year later, the company I worked for shut down the R&D program I was part of and laid off everyone. I worked in Corvallis for 6 months but am back in Portland full time now as I look to meet people, take classes, and work seasonal and temporary jobs as I work towards a more permanent career again.
I enjoy meeting people. I have a great circle of friends that I am open to expanding. However, my reason for being on this site is to meet women to date and hopefully someone with whom to develop a relationship.
I'm getting ready to plant garlic for overwintering.
I enjoy road trips and getting outside. Not much of a skier or rafter, but enjoy a good hike or weekend camping trip. There's so much to see and do in the Portland and the Northwest. After 4 years here I'm realizing how much there still is to check out.
I own way too many books.
Shawshank, Raging Bull, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine are a few favorites. Most of my TV is watched online. I'll often end up seeing a series as it wraps up and power through all the seasons on Netflix. Recent interests have been Master of None, Peaky Blinders, Stranger Things, Luke Cage, and Black Mirror. It took me 5 years, but I guess I'm hooked on GOT now.
I love how many great live shows there are around Portland. Everything from folk and bluegrass to hip hop.
I'm enjoying good Mexican food and Vietnamese Sandwiches (or did in the Bay Area), but miss soft pretzels and real hoagies (can you guess where I'm from originally?).

6. Regular bathing
Why do people in Portland become less social and disappear for the winter? Sure it rains a bit and is glomy, but the weather from October to April is much milder than in much of the country. There's so much to do here (indoors and out) even in winter.
Update: I'm starting to drink more coffee. I'm not sure how I feel about this.
Update2 (December 2015): I'm somewhat coffee dependent now.
Update 3 : (October 2016) Caffeine dependent. Coffee everyday. I enjoy tea on the weekends and evenings. No caffeine for a day puts me into withdrawal.
You enjoy disc golf so much that you'd like to build a road trip around visiting various courses.
Or just to say hi and have tea or a beer.
I'm always looking to meet interesting new folks and expand my social circle. I'm single, and want to find someone special. I'm not all that interested in polyamory or open relationships.
