My self-summary
I'm generally mellow, easy to laugh, on the quieter side. A good listener.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been working in non-profits for 10 years, HR. It's steady, pays the bills. I'm part of a Buddhist meditation group, really love that- super grounding and inspiring. I swim, take lessons every week. Recently completed massage therapy training but oddly not doing anything with it. I practice yoga now and then, previously much more. Just started running again. I read, devoured Elena Ferrante's neopolitan novels. For now no major plans, just living day to day and enjoying what the city has to offer.
I’m really good at
I take good care of my plants and love what they give back to me. I create a nice home environment, and am very much a home body during my free time. I fry eggs really well and in general I make tasty simple meals. I'm good at honoring others, making others feel pretty good; I have great ideas for making stuff happen, an excellent planner, but I'm not a type A personality - I'm not really that goal oriented so after I come up with a plan I just let it go. Ha, whatever. I'm good with structure, creating it, implementing it. Is that a thing?
The first things people usually notice about me
I have the posture of a dancer. An easy smile. I'm generally a low key person but I stress at work...guess that's why they call it work.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
the wind up bird chronicle, just kids, forest people, gorillas in the mist, paul coelho, the velveteen rabibit, winnie the pooh, the knife, antony & the johnsons, amadou & mariam, baba maal, ry cooder, kate bush, laurie anderson, william blake, caravaggio, picasso, juan miro, jackson pollack, chogyam trungpa rinpoche, rodney smith, patti smith, phillip seymour hoffman, breaking bad, sillicon valley, live jazz, choral music, country blue grass, flutes, jimi hendrix, the heartless bastards, nick drake, john lee hooker, lou reed, the police, ac/dc :-), green curry, nam pang, taco chulo, salads at pret a manger, chocolate chip cookies, grapefruit, cherries, blueberries....etc.
The six things I could never do without
Music. Water. Art. Movement. Love. Books.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Should I stay or should I go?
On a typical Friday night I am
Well, I'm low key - so sometimes I'm out but lots of times I go for a swim or lately a run, and then come home and eat a little and peace out with a film, rest. I don't need a lot to be happening all the time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Um, it's private :-) ha. I don't know - I'm pretty open and most people appreciate that I'm candid and honest.
You should message me if
You're straightforward, kind hearted, warm, affectionate, intelligent, pragmatic, funny, silly, curious, dreamy. And message me if you're like, whateves about this dating thing. I've talked to people who bring up marriage in a text message or on the phone before I've met them and I have little to say in reply. I'm super fine on my own in this life but would be so excited to find a new friend who I connect with and then see about the rest from there.
