I read voraciously, and I apply the Lindy Effect liberally to what I read... value in ideas or books correlates well with age, in my experience. Given a choice between the average NYT best seller and one of Plato's works, it's highly likely that the Plato book is a more worthwhile time investment.
Over the past year some of my favorites have been Stephenson's Snow Crash, Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson, and Kahneman's Thinking, Fast and Slow.
I don't always watch television, but when I do, I watch Game of Thrones and True Detective.
I could go on for an aeon about music -- grew up on emo/pop punk, think TOYPAJ, Make Yourself, Deja Entandu, and Take This to Your Grave. Soft spot for ska. Of late into Made in Heights, Disclosure, CHVRCHES, and other pop/electro goodness.
