My self-summary
I haven't upgraded, so I won't see you if you only send a "Like" and that would be a shame. My friends will tell you that I have a strong sense of humour, very heavily skewed towards dry wit and sarcasm in the traditional English style.

After many years of tedium I'm looking for someone with whom I can share adventures, excitement and fun in all their forms.

I live my life according to "Rule Number 6", and if you know what that is, we have a lot in common.
What I’m doing with my life
I've finally given in to the inevitable and am trying to forge a career as a freelance writer/copywriter/editor and am writing blog posts for commercial clients as well as working on some fiction and the occasional reportage piece
I’m really good at
Creative writing, zymurgy, finding the humour in any situation, creativity, problem solving, always knowing where my towel is.
The first things people usually notice about me
My accent.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a T. V. but no connection, so I catch up on "Mad Men", "Breaking Bad", "Dexter" on DVD, and "Last Week Tonight" and "GOT" online. Most recently read; "Man's Search For Meaning" "Neurotribes" "Girls and Sex" ( I have an 11 year old daughter, so need all the head start I can get). I lean heavily towards historical non fiction, but pick up a novel occasionally and David Sedaris whenever he publishes anything new. Movies? "The Italian Job" ( Original) "Dr Zhivago", "Serenity" "Quartet" "The Shawshank Redemption" Honestly, the list is too long.

Music : From The Clash, Joy Division and The Jam all the way to LCD Soundsystem, Passion Pit, Arcade Fire, Daft Punk, Janelle Monae, again, with too much in between to mention.

I'll eat anything once as long as I can pronounce it or at least recognise it, but love Mexican and Indian and am rediscovering the joys of Thai and Sushi.
The six things I could never do without
My subscription to the Craggy Island Examiner
Frequent meetings of the Miskatonic School of Literature Alumni Society
My books
Coffee. Seriously, I am the Robert Downey Jr. of coffee
A sense of humour
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why otherwise intelligent people buy cinema hotdogs. If they make tin whistles out of tin, what do they make foghorns out of? How soon is now? What's with the whole selfie taken in the car thing?
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no such thing as a "Typical" Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can resist anything except temptation.
You should message me if
You are interested in making the most of lifes' opportunities, can't pass up the chance to have fun, love to laugh and relish the opportunity to experience something different. If you click "Like", I won't know who you are, which would be a shame, so please send a message, no matter how short.
